@classyteacherdiva I was looking for it too and finally found it. It's arranged by Hall Johnson, in the Hall Johnson Collection - the purple Book & CD set (find it on amazon, etc). If you're in school, check for it on inter-library loan. That's how I got it!

I met Jessye Norman and literally started bowing down to her and she sweetly stopped me and said, "Oh, come on!"

She is so nice to all her fans after her performances and signs all the autorgraphs of people who request them. Not all artists do that but she makes time for the people who love her.

Jessye, if your reading this, meeting and talking with you was one of the highlights of my life.

And, as a singer, there is nobody more influential to me.

I agree with you. She is so nice to her fans. I had the pleasure of meeting her after one of her concerts when I was in college. She spoke with everyone who came to see her backstage and never once tried to cut you short. She answered every question and signed every autograph.

Yes. H. T. Burleigh wrote several arrangements of Negro Spirituals. This song and others are in a collection.  The Book is white and has black writing on the cover. Some of the chords in this song and others is breath taking.

I watch (and listen to) this video once or twice a week. I'm a big fan of Ms. Norman. Her voice has so much power. The old spirituals really speak to me....these old songs are a great testimony for Christianity! Please see her rendition of "Give Me Jesus", also sung during the same concert.
