Thank you, paul72kate. He was my father-in-law and I agree. Beautiful, beautiful voice. His brother, Bob Eberly (note the spelling of the last name), sang for the Dorsey Orchestra.
wrong...song is written by Vincent Rose, Al Lewis and Larry Stock, first recorded by Sammy Kaye & his Orchestra with singer Tommy Ryan.
Gene Autry recorded about three months later, and his version was used in the movie "The Singing Hill" (Starring Gene Autry). So even Gene Autrys record is a cover ;-)
I listened to Sammy Kaye's original, and it fairly good, but Tommy Ryan's vocals are somewhat flat.
This version is the best of the early recordings. While I do enjoy the more well known Fats Domino recording, it can't come close to this! Gene Autry's came out around the same time as Sammy's,but some say Gene's is the original. However again, this is the best version by far!

Good lord, even Elton John has done a cover of this. But no cover version will ever be as good as this. EVER.

This predates Fats Domino's version by about 17 years.

Hi, Jean. The vocalist is Ray Eberle. He was the first one to make a hit with Blueberry Hill with the Glenn Miller Orchestra.

@LUVGWTW2 - And what a vocalist was Ray Eberle! It was he who made the Glenn Miller Band what it was on their vocalist-accompanied numbers.

It sounds like some sort of Foxtrot music.

How do you make the visual of the video be that one image? It's a really professional looking effect, especially with this kick-ass music!
