Remember this... If you got it a truck brought it... These big loads might be better on the RR. until they come to a tunnel.. so see the good in a little inconvenience.
Oh yeah and another thing do you drive or ride a bike i bet you people drive so where does the oil come from in that car you drive so why post stupid videos like this
Well In case you people don't no jack i know a lot of guard soldiers who work for the road crew on this project it creates jobs in this bad economy so get over it People
Please anyone of you "Big oil consuming Americans" explain to me how these loads are going to destroy the pass and you will not just meet one of these loads you will be warned in advance and parked for the load to pass so Please again explain what it is your bitching about???
I was raised on these roads too....my family has been in Idaho since the late 1800's. Cities they pass through?????? This is wilderness,.,,there are no cities...
@mistymtndawn You really need to do more research as the pics in your video are not the loads coming through there and its not like these loads just drive at highway speeds and not all at once and let me guess you do alot of driving around on that highway between 2am and 6 am?
This all has to be done cause of YOU "Big oil consuming Americans" sorry for your luck its going to happen and there is nothing you can do
Idaho has lots of ground to play on its bringing jobs and just deal with it u hicks just don't get it i was raised in idaho and iam sick of the mentality here fuck you
You people are freakin stupid! First of all the companies pay LOTS of money for permits, escorts, and planning to do this. Every city they pass through makes lots of money off selling fuel, hotel rooms, food etc. They have to take this route because they CAN NOT fit under bridges. Sure they could take them apart and ship them that way but that would turn 1 load into about 50. Unless you want $5 gas forever let them do the job they have to do. You hate big oil but love what they produce.
You all bitch about these things yet you all drive cars! That makes no sense to me...These are all peices that will bring money to all the northern states and help make cheaper gas! They pay taxes to dumb ass!
This is so misleading, but I guess it serves your purpose!!!! First of all, the coke drum you show that Mammoet was hauling was manufactured in Canada for use in Canada! This has nothing to do with Highway 12 in Idaho!!!!!! The bridge flexing the way it was is due to the weight as well as the design of the bridge, in other words, it was made to do that!!!!! That coke drum was hauled as one complete piece, the ones on your highway 12 are cut in half!!!!! A little truth goes a long way!!!!! WOW!
Leave it to idaho republicans to make the wrong decision. Happens every time a conservative gets his way, and idaho is full of 'em. Idaho can say goodbye to jobs, healthcare, education, and infrastructure. But, don't let that bother you idahoans. You just keep voting for the people who couldn't care less about anyone that isn't rich. Idaho=stupid.
Yet another international oil company met with Idaho transportation officials last month to discuss shipping oversized loads on Idaho highways – including U.S. 12 over Lolo Pass – en route to Alberta.
Harvest Operations Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of Korea National Oil Corp., wants to truck 40-60 modules to the oil sands near Conklin, Alberta, starting next June.
@mistymtndawn ,,,,so over 240 loads in 1 year,,,,what does that mean? It will close this highway down most nights so basically it becomes a daylight road only...this is outrageous!!!!!!!!!! THe people that live on this road will have limited access to a road that they pay taxes on....seems the ITD wants to sell this road to the highest bidder and to "hell" with the residents...
@mistymtndawn Contract reveals long term plan for oversized shipments on U.S. 12
ExxonMobil is planning to ship oversized modules on U.S. 12 along the winding route over Lolo Pass for the next decade according to the Korean manufacturer of the modules and the Natural Resources Defense Council.
Sung Jin Geotec has said in press releases it has a $1.5 billion, 10-year contract to build the , the 24 foot wide, 196 foot long, and 30 feet tall modules of mining parts that weigh 300,000 pounds.
The trucks will run between 2am and 5am.Care to drive that road at that time? Please stop posting misleading photots of a truck that is not coming up the road. Will these trucks not buy diesel fuel, buy food and contribute cash for road damage? This is not an oil well-this is a well calculated logistical operation-which is probably the second oldest profession. Which way should the trucks go? Please, do tell.
BOISE — An Oregon congressman wants the federal government to investigate an oil company’s plans to ship giant equipment over a two-lane Idaho highway.
Democratic U.S. Rep. Pete DeFazio wrote to U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood, saying he fears taxpayers are being asked to subsidize more than 200 shipments by Exxon Mobil over Highway 12.
Idaho Supreme Court will do speedy review of big rig appeal
Monday, August 30, 2010
BOISE, Idaho - The Idaho Supreme Court has granted a request to speed the appeal of a judge's decision to halt four oversized shipments of oil equipment along a scenic, curvy highway across northern Idaho.
Conoco Phillips just filed (late afternoon Wednesday) a notice of appeal in the Idaho Supreme Court of Monday's ruling of Judge John Bradbury to revoke the CP shipment permits. Wanting to ship ASAP, Conoco Phillips will seek to expedite the appeal before the Supreme Court.
Judge Bradbury this afternoon issued a 16 page decision in our favor, holding that Idaho Transportation Dept violated its own rules in approving four mega-shipments by ConocoPhillips up Highway 12 along the Clearwater and Lochsa Rivers. Now we just need to make sure this never happens again...sign the petititon and let them know that people are watching......and we do care about the wilderness........
Remember this... If you got it a truck brought it... These big loads might be better on the RR. until they come to a tunnel.. so see the good in a little inconvenience.

And now that the biggest loads have made it to Canada, no bridges were demolished, the trees and rivers were not harmed....imagine that.
