Here is a thought: This is America, and if a company doesn't want to pay a bunch of outrageous union wages and have the project take twice as long they have every right to do so. I am from WV and I manage an oil and gas service company that is based in LA so don't tell me these companies don't hire local workers. They just don't hire lazy, union slugs.

I agree 100% if we who live above the Marchellus Shale are going to suffer the long lasting toxic effects of the drilling and fracking then at least the work should be done by local people. Well the bosses have found a new way to divide and conquer the working folks, now its shipping in workers from out of state to work in an area with high unemployment.

Oh darn, they won't let us work for them and take part of their profits. We should go hold signs and complain about it rather than going to find other jobs/pursue different careers.

Inb4 comment deletion, unions ruin the workforce. It brings much unneeded politics into the work area and leaves everyone else with a foul taste in their mouth. So much for "helping all West Virginians".
