  • @orabackup could i borrow your words, i really like that!!!

  • Marching up and down the floor for three years, 'Ichi' 'Ni' 'San' 'Chi' 'Go' etc, 'getting down low' in my stances, and people yelling at me to be strong didn't really teach me to defend myself. I know, you guys think I am 'Low Level' and don't have a strong mentality but I didn't train for some sort of spiritual enlightenment but so I could defend myself if need be but can I really?

  • @JumpityBruce that is something you have to take up with your teacher.

you see if you don't stress that aspect with him you won't learn so you would be surprised how different teachers are when it comes to fighting

  • @JumpityBruce

You can defend yourself without even knowing how to fight. You know that.

Now, why did you really wish to learn karate?

    Regards,

  • @JumpityBruce If after three years, you don't feel confident in defending yourself then you're either thinking too lowly of yourself, or your training partners are not giving you the honest practice you deserve.During all kumite, the rule is that unless there is a large difference in the age, size, or rank of the opponents then the attacker is to ATTACK and defender is to block and control his counter. Nowhere does it say attacker should control. So have you been hit yet? If not, ya been jipped.
