  • What cymbals are those? Where and how much were they??

  • @TheZeldaDrummer They came with the kit. it's not my kit. I was playing on someone elses

  • do they come with the cymbals?

  • drums sounded great but not so keen on the traps cymbals

  • Hi ! Can you please tell me if you can play that drums in a flat ?? I dont want to fuck up my neghbor ears. Thanks :) Btw, AMAZING PLAYING !!!

  • @MetallicaForHope Thanks a lot for watching. I may be a little loud in a flat. You can get some great electric kits though that aren;t as loud. Check out some of my other videos. I usually use a Roland TD-10. They're great.

  • sound good but idk why they are so ugly

  • @TheTubevertiser haha thank you Sir

  • Hi, your a really good drummer! I like your style and unless im mistaken, your a lefty! Like mee so thats cool you dont see many! But all in all good job man!

  • @94JoshTaylor94 Thanks a lot! You're right, I'm left handed. Thanks again for watching.

  • Hi Phil

Lovely sound out of that kit. Well played. I have a Traps kit but the toms don't sound anywhere near what yours sound like. I noted you said you haven't tuned them... Blast - there goes my question LOL

    All the best

    Chris

  • @SilverShadowsBand Thanks Chris. Yeah, it wasn't my kit. Someone asked me to try it out for them. Seems great. I like them a lot. People talk about cheap cymbals and whatever but I like the sound of them.

  • i think u should ditch the factory cymbals and hi-hat and refit them with another brand

  • @reddragonarchballs Notice the Zildjian A Custom on his bed....

  • @MasonBangsDrums Yeah, I have a huge acoustic kit I use with a range of zildjian and sabian cymbals but I like the cheap flats cymbals. I get bored of hearing the same sounds over again so it's good to switch it up a bit.

  • @MasonBangsDrums right ......

  • how does it work :s

  • @Brunswick999 Yeah I was really surprized by how well it worked condsidering the way it looks but it turns out to be a really good kit. I like it.

  • That hi-hat sounds atrocious.

Otherwise, for such a cheap kit, this thing is AWESOME. :D

  • are you left-handed? because you have a really weird way of playing/setting up your drums...

  • @maartnbaele thats not that weird honestly, search open handed drumming.

  • Nice demonstration and pretty sweet, largely mistake-free solo, particularly like the choking around 1:30. Good job!

  • I was happy with this video. Most of them out there demoing Traps have elaborate microphone set ups and processors. I dont see any here (?). They sound good. I have been a drummer for years, but stopped playing simply because there is no room to keep them, nevermind have them set up to play. These seem like the perfect solution.

  • @neurocosm Yeah, I think they're great. I really like them. You're right, I didn't use any mics or anything with it.

  • Hey this will be my 1st drum kit, one on ebay for 99p, and its in my city, you think its a good starting? - If i enjoy drums, i will get a "Propper" one though :D and nice playing!

  • @Benadze360 Yeah! Go for it. It's a great kit. Thanks for watching.

  • Ah that looks like a fun little kit to play! Thanks for posting the video, Phil. :)

  • @EricSes Thanks. yeah, they're kind of cool. I think you can get a really good sound out of them even though, well, they're not really drums. Thanks for watching.

  • @11111phil11111 my only advice to you would be not to move about so much . When you are struggling there it`s simply because you are going off balance which is why your feet keep leave the pedals . And the reason you are loosing your balance is because you are trying to smash the kit to pieces . you have great stick control if you could just relax and play with more control over your body yuou would be a fucking good drummer ./....just chill man :)

  • I like the jazz set up you are using there . Jazz drummers always set their kit up that way around , it makes playing jazz and rock fills really quick and open handed .

Too Skankmaster90 if you haven`t seen that setup before ....then you have wasted the last 16 fucking yeas dip shit !

  • @lwrruk Thanks for watching. Yeah, I like to move a lot when I play. I always have. This was the first time I'd played on a traps kit so the cheap pedals and what not where a little hard to get used to because they're so flimsy. All in all though, I think the kits are great. Thanks again.

  • So you have a Zildjian A Custom ride (or crash) and your using the stock cymbals?

  • @theDRUMMERDUDE100 Yeah, I never go on price, I go on what sound I'm looking for at the time.

  • Your toms are backwards...

  • @Skankmaster90 Do you set your drums up like they do in catalogs?

  • @11111phil11111 Nope, but the smaller tom should be to your left, the bigger on the right and the floor tom to the far right. And vice versa if you're left handed.

  • @Skankmaster90 You can set a drum kit up however you like. I've been playing 16 years now and that's how I set up every kit I've ever owned. I don't look at the guy next to me and copy them. I set it up how I like to play.

  • @11111phil11111 Well then you sir are a trooper. Next time i use a condom, Fuck the way the packaging shows how to put it on! I'm putting that bitch on sideways. You've inspired a generation Phil.

  • @Skankmaster90 Personally I never use them when I'm fucking your mother in the mouth, Have a shit new year Sir. Now don't look at my videos any longer. Next.

  • @11111phil11111 That's alright, you suck balls anyways. I was just trying to help you out. Get fucked then you overcheery cunt, have fun sucking and pissing off the neighbors with that Down Syndrome fueled spasm you calling drumming.

  • @Skankmaster90 Trying to help me out!? You're trying to tell a drummer of 16 years that he should rearrange his kit to suit how you think it should be! As for the neighbours......... it's his fuckin' drum kit. Next.

  • @11111phil11111 Well I've been drumming for 18 years. So there's no need to be so hot headed. How do you get better at something? You learn new things, try new things, continue to evolve and get better. Playing the same things for 16 years doesn't make you a good drummer, trying new things, new set ups and different styles of music for 16 years does. Not trying to poke fun at you but for a drummer of 16 years, what do you have to show for it? How is your band doing? Sloppy fills and no rhythm.

  • @Skankmaster90 Strange, looking at your profile you seem to be a kid. I doubt you've been drumming that long. I DID try new set up......... and that's when people like you start complaining you idiot. I've had a featured video on youtube, an album on itunes and the BBC asked to use some of my footage. How about you tough guy? This is my last reply. I'm too busy.

  • @11111phil11111 Too busy with setting up your kit the wrong way? Youtube talk means nothing but, an iTunes song? Holy fuck, you must be one of the hundreds of thousands of people that think that's an accomplishment. I have 3 CD's made, one in Abbey Road studio, and almost 300 successful gigs under my belt. I've also been teaching goofs like you to play the drums for 6 years. I'm 19 by the way, and if i saw someone your age walk in for lessons and set up like that I'd laugh my ass off.

  • @Skankmaster90 oh go then...just one more reply. Go check out people like Jimmy Chamberlin and Kenny aronoff. They set their kit up the same way. Try laughing at them. And just as I thought, you're just a gobby 19 year old kid. Seen it all before.

  • @11111phil11111 Actually when Jimmy uses a 5 piece he sets it up the proper way. I was only trying to help you out. If i had known that you had set it up that way on purpose I would have just laughed to myself. And it would have saved me the time, and you the asshurt. Anger management my possibly homosexual little friend, try it out.

  • @Skankmaster90 Jimmy never uses a 5 piece dumbass. You're clutching at straws. Go away.

  • Awesome Drumming :D

I have one of these, they are damn good i will agree. They aren't flimsy as you might think they can take a beating as any normal kit would. I love it because i can have the drums in so many more places, you can have the toms hanging over the snare for example.

@aishdamn The simple answer is not great, i broke my crash after a few months. I don't use any of the cymbals that came with the kit anymore. They are ok to start with, but they could only be called beginner cymbals.

  • hey bro you have your toms changed

  • left handed?

  • Hi Phil

    your sound it great

Im getting a traps drum kit and I was wondering what r your cymbals and what kit do u have?

    thks

  • I've been looking at these videos for the Traps kits and yours is the only one that sounds decent. I've been wondering how these really sound. I guess I'll have to find a live demo.

But you're sick on the kit. You made it sound real good. Whoever tuned yours up, if not you, did a great job.

    Sick, sick, sick playing....

  • @M0ofi32012 Thanks a lot. It's not actually my kit. The guy next door was buying one for his kid and I was storing it for him for a few days and tried it out. I didn't tune them at all. This is exactly how it came. I think they're great. I loved it.

  • @11111phil11111 No, no, no...thank YOU!!!

  • how about the traps cymbals.are they sounds great ?

  • like the symbol grabbing

  • how much were they?and nice playin

  • hey awesome drumming! one question, do you thin these will hold up during a rehersal un mic'd? thanks!

  • @werewolvesofmohnton Yeah I think be fine. Thanks a lot for watching

  • Man are those the cymbals that come with? They don't really sound half bad.

  • groovy mate. didnt know you could get that good of a sound out of these things.

  • You Kinds Look LIke Demy De zeeuw a netherlands soccer player

  • Phil Collins? Is that the collins you speak of?

  • been looking for a portable drum kit for rehearsing and pub gigs, recommend? these SEEM ideal, awesome drumming though, insane use of doubles and quick chokes!

  • @theillusivefish Thanks a lot. Yeah I'd say it's worth a go. I was only trying it out for a neighbour but from what I've seen, I think it'd be ok to use for a gig. I could play it all day. Thanks for watching.

  • been looking for a portable drum kit for rehearsing and pub gigs, recommend? these SEEM ideal, awesome drumming though, insane use of doubles and quick chokes!

  • ive only played on this type of drum kit once but it was someone elses and it was set up all weird so im really curious to use one thats set up properly

  • Thanks. Anyone seen someone playing these with quick speed/metal double kicks? How does/would it perform. How does this compare to arbiter flats? thanks.

  • grarmation, you're an idiot! Nice drumming Phil!!

  • Thanks!

  • cymbals aren't the best but still good

  • ur shit!!

  • You're a child with a weird voice

  • Comment removed

  • Nice burn!

  • wow what you saying he's fucking grate i could lissen to him all day !!

    GRATE druming phil !

  • Thanks a lot!

  • @11111phil11111 your wellcome :D

  • 1. They're not my drums, they ARE my neighbours

    2. I'm left handed

    3. having featured videos and both myspace AND youtube and being featured in rhythm magazine twice say I'm a pretty good drummer.

    4. Fuck you

  • Haha I just noticed you favourited the video?! Why?!

  • hey i need a portable drum kit to bring up to college for jazzy, reggae music, do these sound good? would i have to buy another kit when finished college or are is a good kit besides the portability?

    thanks!

  • @grarmation dude that was some sick playing actually so I have no fucking clue what the fuck you are talking about. btw that "having the hanging toms around the wrong way for a right hander" part is fucking bullshit. Derek Roddy, Marco Minnemann and many other professional drummers have higher tuned toms on the right instead of on the left. go throw up after re-reading your fucked up comment you fucking moron

  • do you recomend one i think im going to buy some

  • What are stick heights =/

  • this is great!

  • Thanks!

  • How good are these kits? I was looking into one a while back because of the whole space issue. I might eventually get one of theses later in life because they look pretty awesome. whats your opinion?

  • i had these as my first kit didnt like them though

then i got a yamaha dtxplorer and then i wanted a proper acoustic and im gettin a tama superstar custom hyperdrive for christmas

  • hello

i know you love phil collins but Remnants yourself and harness your energy

  • Great playing!! I have an electric kit (Yamaha DTXPLORER) but would like to try an accoustic kit, but Im a bit limited for space, so this seems like a good option. Are you left-handed as I've noticed your ride cymbal is on the left of your kit?.

  • Thanks. Yeah, I'm left handed. I used to have a Yamaha DTX and it served me well. It fell apart eventually though. Was fun though.

  • Ahh man your fills are cracking. Your improv is off the hook.

  • Thanks!

  • Hey phil, you should do a guitar vid. Don't you play?

  • Thanks. I do play but I'd get slaughtered by the comments. I'm not really that good.

  • ah. yeah, drummers are more fit to be drummers, but its fun to play. you play lefty or righty?

  • where did you get the electric drum kit and for how much

  • It's not electric. Type in "traps drums" in a search engine.

  • so it pretty much tunes the same as a reglar ol kit and all?

  • Yeah, exactly the same

  • And could you set up an actually bass drum where the traps bass drum should be?

  • Are these very loud? I want a drum kit but I don't want a loud one.

  • do you make these solos up as you go along?

  • Yeah, I just site down and do whatever comes in to my head.

  • I like the kit, the portability, unlike the acoustic kits. I have an acoustic set with a lot of cymbals. It is such a pain. Your drumming is great, I love to watch!!!! I play a similar style, but I don't possess as much speed, nice playing.

  • Thanks a lot. Yeah, they're great and really fun to mess around with.

  • oh and btw where did you get those at?

  • Yeah it's a real kit. Type it in online. You can get them from a lot of places.

  • are those actuall kits

  • Haha thank you. Thanks for watching.

  • ya i like it just i dont like those kinda drums haha sry..but nice beat:)

  • sometimes the musician makes the instrument and not the other way around! ya know =D

  • Thanks!

  • Great playing, Phil! Those are really cool. Almost all the compactness of electronic drums, but with the sound and feel of acoustic drums. The best of both worlds! 5 stars.

  • Thanks Dave! Good, as always, to hear from you. Yeah, they're pretty cool. My neighbor asked Santa to bring them for his son so I'm storing them until then. He said I could try it out. I might get one. They're really easy to set up. Thanks again.

  • dude your amazing how are you not in a famouse band or somthing?

  • i sure hope that you live in a house buddy xD cos if it's an apartment your neighbours will go nuts *roflmao*

  • nice dude i live in widnes too just thought id bring it up and ive checked out ye band and they sound great ill try n get to a gig :)

  • sound great!but it needs better cymbals

  • ARE YOU A FUCKING IDIOT?

He's got fucking a customs. GO DIE IN A DITCH

  • You can clearly see a 'Traps' logo on the cymbals. They look like A Customs at first glance but nope, they're garbage.

  • yes but only if you count the (i think) ride on the couch

  • Settle down guys! Yeah it comes with 'traps' cymbals which are cheap sheet bronze ones but I like the sound of them anyway. The A custom is part of my acoustic set. I wanted to try it with my own cymbals. Now everyone play nice!

  • Are you a retard! i ment the ones on the traps kit, fuckin dumbass

  • is ur surname mckenna?

  • I can't really tell, is it any quieter than a normal drumkit?

  • i dont think i could get my head around all the sounds of drums

  • To be honest I've never seen them in shops. I always see them online on websites and stuff. It was the first time I'd played them. They sound great.

  • you drumming is amazing

  • wow thank you!

  • Sounds just like jazz (:

  • find they have a jazzy feel

  • sounds great dude

  • doesnt sound all that bad in my opinion, i would have one :)

  • My god!

  • Are these only sold in the UK?

  • No way, you can get them anywhere. Check them out.

  • always great Phil :)

  • What cymbals are those? They sound really nice.

  • They're just the 'traps' cymbals that come with it. They're plain sheet bronze ones but I like them!

  • Great playing. I thought the cymbals were Sabian Solars at first but they sound better than the Solars.

  • im going to sound stupid asking this but,

whats the difference between a trap kit, and an acoustic kit?

  • Well, it´s also an acoustic kit.

But it´s very small and easy to transport.

  • A trap kit is a drum kit.

An acoustic kit is a kit that isn't electric.

A Traps drum kit is a brand of drum with very shallow drums for easy setup and transportation.

  • Sounds good...finally got my old Gretch set dusted off and been whaling on it! Cheers Phil!

  • its always nice to watch you freestyle, especially with a small kit like that, keep up the drumming mate (Y)

  • Quality man!!!!!!!
