do you understand the concept of file "sharing"? megaupload is/was just a huge medium for people to transfer files PEER to PEER. the government didnt go into everyone personal home PC and abduct their files.

@gecko793 MegaUpload was not P2P, you're wrong. It was for sending and STORING large files, a feature absent from e-mail providers. Gmail's limit is 25MB, but if you're collaborating on a film project how do you send those gigabytes of files? Megaupload filled that gap. How do you send FLAC files in e-mail?

P2P is not server-based, the files aren't stored on a central server.

Example: Blizzard uses a P2P client to distribute new and old patches for World of Warcraft.
