Awesome knife man, I think the Dodo went the way of the Dodo...can't find them anywhere! Really want one of these. Hopefully the sprint run will be coming soon.
I have had this knife for 6 years. Got it at a gun show for $92. My everyday carry. No scratches on the blade(good steel) and I do use it. Not construction work. I use disposable razor blades to cut sheetrock and such, not hundred dollar knives. Pocket clip snapped off within the first year. Spyderco refused to send me a new one and wanted me to send in my knife. I declined. Put a leather cord through hole. In short: this knife looks small, but in a flash, cut you from your face to ass.
everything for the last 6 years and not a scratch on the blade. My everyday carry. Today, for example, I sliced up a pizza and poked a hole in a crazy glue tube because the cap was stuck.
managed to snag one of these off ebay (blue g10 instead of black. oh well, life is full of little disappointments). it's quite possibly the most comfortable knife i've ever held. it's replaced my boxcutter at work, and people who've never expressed any interest in knives have asked where they can get one. one girl called it "cute", so i guess the vibrant blue g10 bumps up the sheeple friendly factor a bit.
I never thought I'd be interested in this knife until I saw your review. Now I totally like the design and ergos, it's on my wanted list. Great review:)
It's not the sort of design I'd usually go for, but it looks like it would be perfect if you had to open boxes etc. all day. Very comfortable looking.
yeah, it definitely looks like a box cutter. definitely something that would serve well if you have to do a lot of controlled slicing. i still prefer my endura, though.
Can you 'flip' the ball lock like the AXIS/Arc lock? I've never got hold of a ball lock. It appeals to me so much as I just don't like lockbacks, which is what Spyderco use mostly, I prefer the AXIS/Arc, but I do love the designs in general! Just looks a bit fiddly compared to the Benchmades.
You could if you can hold the ball lock open, but its hard to do that. The Pikal has an easier lock to hold, but in general the lock is much harder to move than the axis.
And do u have a blue ine

it looks to be an excellent utility knife...similar to the function of the "box cutters" u may find at a hardware store that used disposable blades.

Much as I love weird blade shape in terms of looks, I have enough trouble resharpening a regular recurve...

Straight out of the box you can flick it to an extent..... but it requires a pretty wide arm movement.
Removing the secondary spring in the ball lock housing makes flicking a lot easier.

Very cool knife and review! Just found your vids! I picked up a Poliwog more out of curiosity and was pleasantly surprised with the strong ball-lock.
