  • As a gypsy brass tune, this is stellar. This song is one of his hardest to sing lyrically and to do that to gypsy brass is unbelievably masterful.

  • what recording is this, where can I get it?

  • ok, the boss wrote this song, but the manfred mann version is still the best

  • @jayemm32 You my friend are wrong...

  • OOOH yeah! blown away!

  • I don't see how the streets and nero's version is in any way similar to this?

  • I really like the brass added to this! Really lively! A great song!

  • amazing

  • This kicks ass. I would love to know where I could get a copy of the actual video in sync.

  • @eeestube the seeger sessions Live in Dublin dvd has Blinded...but it runs during the credits...still worth having..great dvd

  • nah this is crap. They're not sure if they're playing ska or klezmer.

  • Freaking amazing!!!!!

  • I never thought that this song could be so jolly and cheerfull. This is really amazing!

  • fantastic!

  • Is there a thumbs sideways button?

Hey it's his song. At least he got the lyrics right.

  • Appreciate Bruce for continuing to experiment, but I prefer the studio version. It's strange that some people here seem to think this is the way he's always sang it. It was only sung this way during that tour.

  • i can´t what i´m going to say, but the boss has wrecked "blinded by the light"

  • @oscarmar18 You do know that the boss wrote Blinded by the Light right? Not Manfred Man...Watch his version from VH1 Storytellers. It's ten times better than than Manfred Man's cover.

  • @MrAFlan what i want to know is that the older version from greetings, is much better than this one, I admire the boss, I´ve gone to many of his concerts, I´ve got from greetings to magic albums, sorry if you misunderstood me.

  • @MrAFlan i already knew that springsteen did, and I also think that the storyteller´s version is better, especially when he tells how he wrote the song

  • @oscarmar18 You my friend have no soul...

  • The boss??? seriously? This is God Awful... sorry!

  • Don't care for the video at all. But really like this version of the song! Just love whatever he does

  • straight crap i hate my friend or used to be my friend for having wasted 5 mins. of my life

  • This is horrible. I saw Springsteen live in 93, and thought he sucked live. He cant sing, he mumbles. My dog can sing better for crissakes. Aerosmith blows live in concert too. Big dissappointment. Sometimes you wish you just listened to the album. Afetr I saw Bruce live, I never listened to him again. This sounds like 10 drunks mumblimg into a trash can. Other than that, its great.

  • @MegaBob77777 So your dog's got a dozen double-platinum albums, Grammys, an Oscar and several milion dollars then?

  • EInfach nur richtig gute, handgemachte Mukke - grandios!

  • Just Want To Say Thanks For Making My Video "This Is The Worst Song Ever Recorded-Agree Or Disagree" Popular On Youtube And Thanks For All The Views....Peace Out...

  • Bruce Springsteen originally wrote and recorded blinded y the light.

  • The origanal is a masterpiece. This is just shit.

Bruce Springsteen is so over rated.

  • Comment removed

  • Very interesting! I think i like it. It definitely works this way, to say the least!

  • I think you guys should understand that Bruce wrote the song, which, originally, sounds nothing like this, and also sounds better than Manfred Mann's cover (my opinion). This was a tour with a sessions band in a folk style, and as such, many of Bruce's songs were rebirthed for the new band and style. I actualyl like this, but if you expect the original, or even Manfred Mann's, this is far from it.

  • Now someone with sense is talkin'! People can take Manfred Mann's bubble gum pop if they'd like, but you cant' touch the BOSS!! What's Manfred doing now...playing at old age homes??:)

  • his version sucks..... period

  • What the fuck is this

  • There is not nearly enough information about this song. My compa said it was featured on a major feature film. I've been looking everywhere for a real version of this song, and the soundtrack.

  • LOL what a silly, amusing, awesome version this is!!!

  • you are crazy, this version is awesome, its different from others version ??? Trumpets does not absolutly mean Mexican lolll, it seem more like a Easter European song

  • only the true OG's listen to this shit

    lol

  • I laughed.

  • this is the ska version of it

  • the only horrible thing is Mann`s version. This one simply rocks!

  • are u joking? the manns version is 99999999999999999999x better than this piece of shit, and i like bruce springsteen

  • i like springsteen, too, but he`s way better than Mann.

  • Woe it sounds up and down and all over the place, like Manfred Mann's version waaaay better.

  • then go and listen to some Mann...

  • Dont worry, I will

  • That guy can go and listen to Mann anytime. He's playing to a crowd of five and the neighborhood old age home! Mann wouldn't qualify to shine the Boss's shoes!!:)

  • What exactly do you mean?

  • I was talking about Raiken's comment, and others, who blast the Boss about his interpretation of his own song. Some have made Mann's music sound as if it's more worthy than the Boss's music..period. I meant that Mann has such a following that he's playing music to a few old people at the neighborhood old age home, while the Boss is 60 and playing to huge stadiums throughout the world.

  • okay, good to hear you have the same opinion than me- i am 14 btw...

  • I do like the Hispanic twang on it. It's not as good as either the original or Manfred Mann's verious, though.

  • i actually dig it...you can't do the same song over and over for 30 years. You have to change it up and make it fresh.

    Good Job Boss!!!!

  • Manfred Mann's version is crap. Though this version isn't a patch on Bruce's original.

  • he does not sing poor at all

  • fuck u bitch of wrath ill rape ur sister

  • what the fuck is this?

  • Wow this is not too good.

  • Must say that I really like better in the original version. My favorite was the during the Devils & Dust tour did it all by himself, incredible!

  • Live in Dublin is the best version of this.

  • Was ein scheiss...sucks!!!!!

  • The. Boss.

  • SUCKS!

  • guess since the boss wrote this song he can perform it any darn way he pleases! and this is great!

  • Damn straight! Manfred Mann can take the Boss's song and make it into bubble gum crap if they'd like, but it's still owned by the Boss!!

  • You can have Manfred "one hit wonder" Mann's version if you'd like, since it sounds like bubble gum crap anyway!! Besides, the Boss wrote the song, and he can play it any damn way the Boss wants to play it!!!

  • @privateclem strange i just listened to manfred´s it´s not the same song.

    Just some lyrics.

    Bruce Springstens sounds like

    Marc Almonds "Mother Fist"

On the other hand who wrote Born in the USA?

MAyby a 10 year old you say-well NO

    It was...Manfred Mann .

Compare to "Do wah diddy "

  • It is the same song. He's changed the rythym of the melody and some of the chords for this version to better compliment the latin sound of the group.

  • Queen´s bohemian rapsody is abba´s vuolez-vouz,abba just changed everything.

  • @jhbdfbksdhgfjldsnglg i listened to both again, definitely a similarity, but both are very good songs (though i like born in the usa more) and they each are individual enough to stand on their own merits despite the common ground.

  • bruce springsteen wrote born in the usa, not manfred mann.

  • "wrote" ?...copied. "do-a -diddy-di-di-dam-didi-do" equals "ref.born in the U.S.A"

    get it?

  • @jhbdfbksdhgfjldsnglg i listened to both songs and i'm still not getting the connection. huh. and how can voulez-vous be the same as bohemian rhapsody when you yourself state that abba 'changed everything'?

  • Can´t you see it´s a joke?

Of course it´s not the same song, exactly as for bruce Springsteen and Manfred mann.

please sing yorself the theme"dowadiddydiddidamdidido" then "born in the usa"..and you will hear the resemblance if you are not tonedef

  • This is amazing!! I really never cared for the original version whether it was Manfred man or Bruce. This is way different than anything i would expect from bruce. He is so brilliant

  • u should see tha live in dubin dvd its tops and it rocks

  • i don't like this version at all....

  • Not at all what one would expect...but, considering he's been doing this tune since 1973, it was probably due for a radical reimagining.

  • this version sucks

  • mansfredshit mans band is just a cover..bruce is pure rock from the heart just a guitar and a mic.

  • manfred man lol what a joke

springsteens original is one of the best songs ever written, the lyrics are nothing short of genius beaten only by dylan, manfred man's version is just a poor cover

  • was this the birmingham nec tour cause it was amazing like it is on blu ray

  • this isnt the stone pony wtf?

  • this rocks hard..get your hands on LIVE IN DUBLIN...Manfred Man is way down the ladder...

  • how stupid to think that.

    imo

  • Either you have no clue about what good music is or you are doing some retart drugs.

Manfred Man's version IS the best version.

  • right ... nah ... though this version is a cool experiment the original bruce version is better than manfred mans

  • hell yeah its the best version

  • back in black.

    i hit the floor

    next thing you know

  • best version

  • Love it :-) and I'm from the good old USA

  • I think those who don't like this version of "Blinded by the light" must be from USA or something like that. Europeans and maybe south americans are more familiar with this kind of sound and can appreciate it. There are simply different cultures in the world with different tastes, just take Queen's music for example: their hits in the USA have been "We will rock you", Another one bites the dust and "We are the champions" and I'd say, as an European, that those are hardly their best songs.

  • Anyway, de gustibus non disputandum.

  • this adudio sound is not the best 'gotta get the dvd it rocks hard.live in dublin

  • damn this is a HORRIBLE version of this song

  • So surprised to read that so many people hate this version. He started his concert in. antwerp with it and it was partytime from the first note. I think it is funny, daring and cool to have the courage to change your own songs and I simply LOVE this version.

On repeat on my I-pod in the morning and my whole day is great.

On the Sessions tour he also played great versions of Atlantic city, Further op the Road, Adam Raised a Cain (even better than the original)

  • Kidding ? GREAT version ! It's Bruce's attempt at something SKA flavored (it's all on the downbeat). Nice job Bruce and hometown randolph Buddy La Bamba !

  • uhm i think both versions are good though i prefer Manfred Mann's Earth Band's version.

  • Does someone know the chords for this version? because I saw him play it with capo once..

  • Why watch something you don't like.

Grow up children - go out & play!!!!

  • I like it because I like it because I like it because I like and it has nothing to do with Bruce's reputation. The fact is it is a cool version of Blinded by the light and it's cool. People with the bad comments should be a little more imaginative and enjoy it.

  • Manfred Mann's is still the best version.

  • dude this is sick

  • Assholes. Your just talking about the best musician of all times. I agree to "Irongrant", if you dont like it, dont watch it and shut up!

  • fuck u alllll

  • shudder

  • ick

  • he thinks he's so cool

  • THIS SUCKS MAJOR ASS!

  • ...wtf is this..

    this is fucking bullshit man..

  • kids, if you don't like it, don't watch it.

  • please pull this vid cause it sucks!!!!!-10=d

  • Springsteen's version was initially unsuccessful, and failed to appear on the music charts

A version of the song recorded by Manfred Mann's Earth Band was a major hit, reaching #1 on Billboard's Hot 100 on 19 February 1977. As of 2007, the Manfred Mann's Earth Band recording of "Blinded by the Light" is still Springsteen's only Number 1 single as a songwriter on the Hot 100.

Facts Don't Lie. Mann's version is better.

  • Great to see the original!

  • HORRIBLE

  • Is this realy blinded by the light? :S

  • This version really doesn't work.

  • This version really doesn't work.

  • If you listen really carefully....

....you can find out that Springsteen can't sing!

  • how clever did you think that comment was...?

  • it really IS a shame you didnt.

  • Shame you didn't.

  • Manfred Mann could never win. In Britain, the critics tore their version of the song apart back in the `70`s. It went to Number One in America, and here the Sprinsteen fans now tear it apart. C`mon, be honest, the Mann version was great, with Chris Thompson on lead vocals. Springsteen`s various versions are also great. Terrific song, most unusual.

  • no way, this is awful

  • Thought I would look for the Springstein Version just too proove that it would be the typical scream load of crap I knew it would be.

And By God it is worse than I could have thought

  • holy mother of...it's la bamba from late night with conan o'brien!!! and of course, max should be on the drums like usual.

  • oh man, this is the most funky, ska, gypsy version of the song - his coolest on that album, just that it might sound a bit too foreign for some of you out there, who still think born in the usa, was a anthem to gloriefie the us

  • Yea, you're pretty enlightened. And next you were going to tell us that he was upset Reagan used it in campaign for President. We all saw the VH1 rockumentary...

Guess what, reality is, none of this changes the fact that he is an undereducated low rent prick who came into a lot of money and complains about the source of his wealth - in a vain attempt to garner support from the leagues of blue color fans he claims to represent. This guy couldn't be more phony. And his voice - well it sucks.

  • God - ur rite. A great entertainer but prick of the first order for his politics

  • Ok man this sure as hell aint his best song, wasnt his best concert either, but this man dont "suck" i dont care what anyone says. this man dont suck

  • the original version on Bruce's first album Greetings from Asbury Park is waaaay better than this it has a more jazzy feel and personally i like it better than Manfred Mann's version

  • Keep writing the songs Bruce but for fucks sake leave the singing to others.

  • is this dylan singing with brooooce jumping around? no, too silly for dylan. shitty version of someone trying to copy dylan. doesn't sound like this guy has his own style or sound. maybe he is doing karaoke in tijuana?

  • it's not wrapped up like a douche you moron, it's revved up like a deuce. It's a classic car made by ford smarts.

  • actually...in the bruce springsteen version of the song, the line is "revved like a deuce." The Manfred Mann's Earth Band version says, "revved up like a deuce."

  • Bruce might have wrote it, but his version sucks

  • This is one version listen to the original

  • If you haven't listened to the version of this by Manfred Mann's Earth Band, please go do that now.

Don't vote on my comment until you have.

  • do u want to know why you are reterted....you sit here and watch this and think he copied manfred mann....no this dude wrote the song you stupid little fool

  • Super trabajo come siempre, enricsalas!

  • I agree. Manfred Mann did this song a lot better

  • AHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA

    HAHAHAHHAAHAHA

    wow.

  • considering the fact that it is a springsteen song, and the fact that manfred mann decided to change the lyrics to "wrapped up like a douche," (as if anyone needed another reason to correctly like the original more) you couldn't be more wrong. and maybe your buddy navylax over there is just a conservative "douche," to quote your boy manfred.

  • they changed the line to "revved up like a deuce" as opposed to springsteens "cut loose like a deuce"

no douche. it's just a common mistake people make when hearing the line.

i love the boss, but manfred manns version is just alot more fun.

  • Not really conservative or liberal, I just don't like it when 'celebrities' play their hand in politics, like this undereducated douche-bag, pun intended, has throughout his overvalued career.

  • Springsteen wrote this song.

  • This sounds horrible. Why someone remake a classic like Manfred Mann's Earth Band's Blinded by the Light. Ugh!

  • Sorry but was manfred mann's earth Band who remade this song

  • Sorry but was manfred mann's earth Band who remade this song

  • yeah springsteen wrote this song mafred mann's Earth Band re did it

  • Springsteen wrote it, but manfred mann made it great.

  • i love bruce but the only 2 lp's of his i can't seem to get into are the seeger sessions and the ghost of tom joad....born to run is my all-time fave lp so believe me, i am a fan!

  • I like :)

  • I like this song and I like how he sings it but I prefer Manfred Mann's version better though they're both amazing.

  • This version is actually a lot closer to the "flow of conscience" that Bruce's song originally represented. The images, costume, and venue are very reminiscent of the song's extremely diverse origination, which was Bruce's experience with a slew of "unique" individuals he encountered as a young artist in New Jersey. I think it's quality.

  • And hey...it's his song. :)

  • Opinions are sacred but don't speak if you don't know about Bruce and about that tour. And you obviously don't know.

Great re-invention of a great song.
