Great vid guy's! Thanks! I've looked this pack up & it's well over $200 buck's & currently out of stock! I guess what you really need is to at least carry a tourniquet, sponge, gauze, shears, gloves & safety pins, tape & a pack to carry it?
This is an absolutely outstanding kit EXCEPT...I'm not a huge fan of that kind of tourniquet. I would have to stick a CAT tourniquet in its place, otherwise absolutely great. Another thing that would be handy (but doesn't happen that often) is an internal pouch for the shears. You outfitted it well and it is a very viable bag. How did you ever get ahold of a scalpel blade? Or did they just include it? The instruction cards and the DVD are a great idea too. Sweet little bag. Great video.
@GearBuyersGuide They are usually a prescription thing, usually something only available to qualified medical personnel, etc. I am not aware of any specific laws prohibiting laymen from having them, though.
@malford51 Tension pneumothorax is a fluid thing. Tension hemothorax is a blood thing. Both are traumatic and absolutely life threatening and a good blow out bag needs to be able to address these things.
Does it come with all the gear and the tampons would be uses for bullet wounds you put it in were you or someone has been shoot and I works to clear up the blood and stop the bleeding
Do EMT's really use tampons for rapid blood loss? I always thought that direct pressure would work better, also your not shoving something in the wound?
EMTs I won't speak for, since they are almost always going to be just a few minutes from a hospital (real doctors).. but for wilderness / remote care.. there is a lot to be said for pressure inside the wound
You can special order the DVD by e-mailing them from MSTN (they also sell the kit). It was $20 last time I checked, and it's a pretty good DVD. It assumes you have professional gear (like you'd find in the kit or on a battlefield). The section on tension pneumothorax is really informative.
So many KIT`s...

Has anyone heard of Mobil Medic Trauma Gear? Just wondering if anyone had any input about their kits before I went ahead and bought one?
