  • I'm only 27 and I grew up in the Chi listening to my father mix this stuff....pure classic and I stay close to him through all the house classics and steppers. R.I.P Pop

  • tears! thank you tencity, larry levan, paradise garage members, and michael brody for life!

  • Love that comment from isaggse, cuts through all the nonsense...I feel the same but huge respect to the electro funk vibe that got me to house scene. Nightwriters " Let the misic use you" still is my no 1 house anthem.

  • Time marches on...yet these tunes march on with time never stop sounding great..that is why my life is a continual devotion to house.... I really dont care where it started just glad it did....london uk 88 was my starting...

  • I will never forget one day at the Legendary Paradise Garage

when Larry played this version of "Devotion" . He worked the song that night and it sounded so good that I had to go up to the Dj booth and find out what was the promo. Funny thing, when I arrived back to Chicago it was Ten City and knew the guys. A Classic House Record that doesn't die.

  • Don't know why ppl are arguing about NYC v Chicago when Ten City is from Chicago. Just like rap came out of NY, House came from Chicago. I don't care about the clubs that played the music (thats all subjective) but this house came from Chicago ( 80's). Just like all great things it spread and grew and reflected other house cultures but this started in a dark Chicago basement and club before the rest of the world got to know it. Why argue? Mothers pride!

  • gooood!!!!!!!!!

  • SLAMMING!!! Studio 1, Maseru, Lesotho - Saturday night right!!

  • Ten Citi jsou super.Hlavně jsem je poznal díky dj.Ludkovy Formánkovy.kterého velmi zdravím a těším se až ho uslyším na nějakém rádiu.

  • I'm from tha Chi, Born and raised. Regaurdless of where house music originated. From Chicago to New York , Europe, spain or Down Under. Anytime you went or go to a house party theres always love and peace and a good time. house is forever and it would be mainstream if they would have made videos to promote the music it! they need to put a tour together for all of us ole heads.....LOL

  • The Pyramid Club in Richmond, VA on Thursday night! I remember going there with a couple of castmates after a show and dancing 'til the sun came up. Then we went across the street to Hardee's. When I got home, my parents were getting dressed for work. I actually still have this cassette, LOL!!

  • 32nd Street Plaza in B MORE. . . . Nuff said!

  • THE BOX......CHITOWN

  • Tracks in D.C.!!!! Those were some crazy times.

  • I LOVED TRACKS!!! TRACKS used to be my every Saturday night hangout! I loved the DJ, especially Michelle Mirouski. DID TRACKS close? Any other sonf titles that you can remember from back in the day? Later

  • Dude, thanks for your comments. D.J. Michelle had great house parties. Were you there for 4AM breakfast? At 4am they brought in trays of eggs, bacon - true sign POCs were in charge. I ran into the accountant in 2001 in the Castro I'm pretty sure he told me Tracks was closed Drag Shows? I loved doing drag in that Bar, I was a bouncer & Bartended. Do you remember the bar across the street? It had video and was also a restaurant. Thanks for letting me share my experience. Chap & Rusty's anyone?

  • Used to go to the Dome on Sunday nights!

  • great track, classic infact, its a shame that most music today is just pure crap, we might have to wait 20-30 years before another wave of music comes through, but before that happens we can still enjoy the old skool !!

  • Yo, I understand HOUSE music came from Chicago and I respect the Original sound of HOUSE music, much respects to all the pioneer's!!!!! SoCal House mongul Dj Kaoz :)

  • oh i sooo love this song i love it forever why dont the "big" dj's of today play this now why because they all suck and if it were not for You Tube this stuff would go to oblivion its up to us people to keep it alive by pishing for this music and opening clubs that play this NOW before its too late

    is byron's cousin.

I know it dont mean nothing

    just saying.

    peace

  • thid is the greatest house song ever truly ten city is the joint we need you back

  • yo...chicago....haul ass.....quit all that territory crap....what...you watched Warriors too many times?

  • I feel that the original house music roots originated in Chicago (although I am a New Yorker). I don't get caught up in the territory war or the "ownership" of it because the bottom line that all forms of music copy, borrow & incorporate sounds and styles from each other and morph it into something fantastic. New York blew up the whole underground house scene. Larry Levan did not INVENT the sound, but he took it to the next level where it reached more of us than previously.

  • very very beautiful by napoli

  • is very very beautiful by napoli

  • Great Song! Brought me back way back in time! I love House Music .Right back to you also a Great Ten City Song. I 'm thinking of my brother may he RIP he loved Ten City and loved to dance. Thank so much!

  • This is hot. I love this version. Thanks for posting, Mas.

  • Shame people have to use this thread as a Chicago Vs. NY scene thing. I live in London and one thing we know is that a party is a party wherever it is. No need for the BS, it's all about the music.

  • You got that right.

  • Absolut classic. Stingly can sing his ass off.

  • This takes me to far back. Right back to a beautiful lady I was crazy in love with. We would dance to this beat many a day. Loved her. Moved away. Kept in touch for a while then lost contact back in 92.

    shedding tears here. shit.

  • rubbin up on nuff gals to this track in 88 and 89 for sure my libido misses those days. lol

  • NEW YORKwould kill Chjicago in the klub arena, because between New York and North Jersey area there was just too much talent and too many groups. Chicago had it's run wth it's groups, but the dulled bass sound could only go so far there was no challenge to the New York groups and all the Chicago talent came to New York any way all of them Marshall Jeferson, Larry Heard aka Mr. fingers, Darryl Pandy, Farley "funkin' "Keith, Ten City, et. they all came to soak up The Big Apple Frankie Knuckles too

  • You gotta remember, regardless of what people think. NYC birthed house music. Frankie Knuckles who was from THE BRONX took house to Chicago and Chicago ran with it. Arman Van Helden, Luis Vega, D.J. Oji and the list goes on and on of NYC cats who push(ed) house to where it is. That is not to take a way from Chicago, because some real fly cats with some ill music came out of the Chi too. Don't sleep on NYC folks.

  • NIGGA PLEASE, STICK WIT DA RAPS

  • BACK IN THE DAYS IT WAS NEW YORK VS CHI TOWN

WHEN IT CAME TO THE HOTTEST CLUB/HOUSE

JAMS AROUND. of course N.Y. would always kick ass....but Chicago was no joke (word)
