I've got MADD as a topic in my Englishlessons (I'm from germany). To learn more about it, this video is ok...

But MADD always have the same arguments and for some people that's not important.

And that's really bad, because this is a very important theme...

If MADD wanted to punish drunk drivers without being ageist, I would support them 100%. The 21 drinking age causes me to oppose them.

Drunk driving should be a felony on the first offense. It's surprising that MADD is not fighting for that. Drunk driving would have been eliminated a long time ago if it was made a felony.

MADD is little more than a hold-over from the puritannical Women's Temperance Movement - the same people that brought you the prohibition. This advert is little more than a facelift for 1920s "demon rum" scaremongering. Thanks MADD, for successfully labeling a whole swath of America's 18-21 year olds as criminals - all because of an unjust discriminatory law you lobbied for, and to which most of the world does not subscribe to.

Problem with harsh punishment of DUI is that legislatures, with MADD's prodding, have defined DUI to such low blood alcohol levels that it includes people who have never and never will be threats to public safety. Grieving zealots are usurping our rights and we haven't the sense to examine what's going on.

felony charges for very high BAC's

Stop treating TEEN adults like they're children. They're not. MADD epitomizes the worst kind of prejudice and I will never support it until 18-20 y.o. have full adult rights.

OK, extremely poor first aid here. Don't move injured driver unless car is on fire or she has no pulse. If pulse but not breathing, rescue breathe for her where she sits. Her neck could be broken w/o cord injury and moving her could paralyse or kill her. If car is not on fire/in danger and she has a pulse and is breathing, call 911 and let EMT get a neck brace on her before moving her. While dialing, check for major bleeding and apply pressure to wound with your hand. Wait for EMT.

I don't support MADD. I turned 18 in Dec79. USSR invaded Afghanistan same month. In response, Congress passed & Carter signed draft registration. I had to register, women didn't and still don't. MADD lobbies every state to raise drinking age to 21. If men are old enough to fight and die, they're damn well old enough to drink alcohol of any strength... 18-20 y.o. are full adults subject to full adult law and penalty and should be allowed to drink. It is unethical to hold otherwise.

MADD wants to face drunk driving by keeping an unjust law in which soldiers who have had their legs blown off will be arrested for having a beer.

Here's my alternative: Make it a 10 year suspension for 1st DUI offense. Loss of license for life for second offense. Mandatory jail time for driving while suspended for DUI. Then we won't have to punish the law abiding young citizens for the actions of the bad apples.
