it just mentions that you can't score directly from an indirect free kick or if its a direct free kick then it just needs to be hit and needs to travel the distance of the circumference of the ball before it can be touched again by his team mate.

This is actually illegal, and the goal should not of stood, the "chip" was in fact more than one touch. Franny Lee of Man City scored off one of these in the 60`s I think then someone tried it 20 years ago in the English league and it was chalked off as it is more than one touch.

It was a single touch. Once he first touched the ball he kept contact with the ball until he released it. There is nothing in the rules that limits the length of time that constitutes a single touch. Have a look through YouTube and you will find many instances of this type of free kick ... all legal.
