I do support the troops. I have people that I love who are in the military. It's not the soldiers fault that they are in a war.

According to economic theory, even if taxes rise on them, there will still be competition, driving companies to price their products reasonably. (You could argue that they already have prices as low as possible... but the top 20% wealthiest Americans control 84% of it's wealth, meaning that they must be racking up a pretty big surplus.) a They could always band together and raise prices as one, but that would be a cartel... which is illegal.

I understand what you are saying and agree that competition should keep prices down. However, just from what I have seen, competition seems to keep prices even between each other. For example, you take UPS and FedEx. Every year they raise their rates, and they are just about identical as far as rate increases. I'm not saying they are working together, but I find it funny they seem to always raise their rates the same. I think competition is working now in favor of business, not the consumer.

The kurds were killed with weapons manufactured by Bechtel chemical plants when the Reagan administration sold Saddam a whole laundry list of bio and chemical weapons.
