Not all Muslims are Arabs and not all Arabs are Muslims. There are some Arabs who are Christian, of other religions or even non-religious. The world's largest Muslim nation is Indonesia & Indonesians are nothing like Arabs. These Muslim names are actually Middle Eastern names and it's not compulsory to take on their names as Muslims. Since Islam is a universal, a non-Arab Muslim may retain his/her non-Arab name. I'd say the same for Arab Xtians keeping to their own name.

why arab christian?

u should know that rum-orthodox is a new name for the orthodox part of the syriac-melkit church (also known as (syriac) melkitic-greek-orthodox church of antiochia). wich is the part of the syriac-orthodox church which [melkits] was after the council of calcedonia (?) in union with the greeks. But in the last 200 years they used to speak arabic. so rum orthodox isn't arabic ;) it is aramiac/syriac :)

there were arabs which converted to the syriac orthodox, because there werent an arab writtenlanguage. The Language was only spoken. The Rum ORthodox syriacs live in maaula, but the greatest part of rum orthodox came from the ghassanid desert. Only a minority were Syriac.
