Once again, I can see your POV, but we'll have to agree to disagree on this one. Do you honestly think that the war is going to magically end if Obama gets voted in, either? Really? Don't hold your breath. There are some true anti-war candidates, but neither Obama or McCain are them. If Obama were so opposed to the war, then he shouldn't be voting for funding everytime. I agree that of the two, he is the lesser of two evils, but those are NOT the only people running for president. I simply cannot vote for Obama. My conscience dictates that I vote for someone whose views I actually agree with (rather than who is the most popular), and that is neither Obama or McCain. I will be voting for Ralph Nader (as of now, at least), because he has never changed his stance on anything, and he has a proven track record of standing up for people like me and my husband.

I agree that of the two, he is the lesser of two evils, but those are NOT the only people running for president. I simply cannot vote for Obama. My conscience dictates that I vote for someone whose views I actually agree with (rather than who is the most popular), and that is neither Obama or McCain. I will be voting for Ralph Nader (as of now, at least), because he has never changed his stance on anything, and he has a proven track record of standing up for people like me and my husband.

I can respect that. I voted for Nader once for the same reasons you give now. I now feel somewhat responsible for W "winning" the first time because of my vote for Nader. I used my vote as a statement, a protest vote, but our votes didn't matter. I thought Gore was the lesser of two evils, but now I know that we would be MUCH better off if he had won. I appreciate your POV, but I do not agree with his stance on too many issues to just be able to overlook them and vote for him anyway, just because he's "the lesser of two evils". I wouldn't vote for Hillary, either, if she were the one running. And, of course, there is no way in hell that I would ever vote for McCain. That leaves me with the choice of not voting at all, or voting for someone whose views I agree with.

Hey USA04July1776 since I know you are extremely defensive of all things USA I would rather not get into a standard argument with you so I'll just ask you this: Is there any aspect or act or anything in general that you can admit as the fault of USA (talking about foreign relations/actions etc)? America makes mistakes all the time, how could it not when it is you and your values and best judgment that you are following? The KKK, slavery the Jim Crow laws were all aberrations obviously, but put into context they were human conditions, not defining of America. The strength of America is its ability to see its own errors, admit them and improve from them... we wash our own dirty laundry. But many things are blamed on America without any historical context or balance what-so-ever today.

If America's strength relies partially on seeing its own errors, and then improve from there, then why is making honest attempts to have a more intelligent foreign policy not arguable? Questioning American actions abroad is not the same thing as "blaming" America. In many situations, one must analyze causes without getting into blame.

Something you should be aware of is that in Brittain, they've followed a strict policy of inclusivity of the islamic population, even going so far as to give public funds to their churches as an act of solidarity. In response, Islam is pissing on Brittish culture, increasingly demanding anti-semetic domestic policies, and are becomming more and more agressive in their rhetoric against the Brittish government, and western society. I also want to say that islamic terrorists shouldn't be confused with your typical muslim. Terrorist are TERRORISTS because they're as intolerant and uncivil as those neo-cons you mentioned. The only real solution to dissintegrating both terrorist groups (yes neo-cons are terrorists) is to confront them with as much vigor and force as they've done against us moderates. Brotherhood between islam and the west isn't the same thing as laying down at the feet of murderers out of fear.

Snapz Pro to capture, QuickTime Pro to edit. I also use FLASH (usually for adding the titles), and Sound Studio. Of course I sometimes use Photoshop for graphics. I use a Mac and I need a new one, I hope I can raise some funds for that.
