  • Nice video - thanks for doing it. Was @ Leicester de Montford Hall for the Modern Music tour in '77 where this was recorded over 2 nights. The whole show was amazing but this was the standout song - just jaw-dropping!

  • BETTER LIVE I THINK THAT'S SAYING THE TRACKS EVOLVED ANYONE WHO HERES BE BOP DELUXE FOR THE FIRST TIME HOW LUCKY THEY ARE TO HERE ALL THOSE GEMS FOR THE FIRST TIME

  • the best guitar solo ever my favorite guitar player

  • i saw him at fenders ballroom downtown long beach,ca in 82-83 really cool

  • thank you for this...such gorgeous melodic guitar...i'll never forget seeing this live...wonderful

  • Bill doesn't tour as such, but I believe he still does an annual "Nelsonia" up north in the UK.

  • i play lots of stuff but always come back to this ,shame there is no video but wot a trak am i wrong ?please tell ME

  • Nothing short of genius... my favourite guitar solo bar none from a man who showed other guitarists of his day how to communicate with a guitar... the feedback passages at the start of the solo are mind-blowing and show his grasp of the noise a guitar can make as well as being very, very musical!

  • Eric who? Bill could give most "stars" guitar lessons! Loved these guys since the first album.

  • Saw BBD in the 70s/early80s. In Phoenix, Arizona. Celebrity Theatre both times. Lead band the first (or second - can't recall) was the "Jam". Second time (?), was a horrible, unknown little band we couldn't wait to get rid of to get to BBD - thought it sounded like a 50s band. "Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers", or something like that. Guess they sold a couple records over time.

But if you were there for BBD, it was all a waste of time until they hit the stage.

  • This is my favorite guitar solo. Bill Nelson is my favorite guitarist. Both Bill and Be Bop Deluxe are criminally overlooked and underrated.

  • Never ever tire of listening to this , obviously outstanding guitar solo from the best guitarist ever to come out the UK, but keyboards, bass and percussion are also in a class of their own. Absolutely wonderful composition!

  • @arm3560 . Good for you. I agree about Bill Nelson. He is something special, isn't he? But the call response with the keyboards, solo to solo makes me melt with sheer pleasure.

  • Beck has always been my fav, would rather see Rory Gallager (I know he is dead, saw him 7 times) but, my #1 show ever was Bill Nelson at the Park West in Chicago back in 84.

He came out for his encore, the house screaming for Sister Seagull, he comes out and does a 15 minute guitar solo that would have shut all the rest down. I think Clapton should invite Bill for the next Crossroads.

    *thank you **

  • Bill Nelson is the best rock/experimental guitarist Britain has ever produced. I have listened to many guitarists Clapton, Beck, Page, even Hendrix ect , but no one has his fluidity and seamlessness in his playing and his righteous choice of notes. after thirty years or more Bill still sends shivers up spine.

  • @waymanjones1 FLUIDITY is a big word my friend ,.i have seen page ,clapton ,beck,i have not seen nelson ,i would love 2 but does he still tour ? if so tell me when !

  • nelson is amazing on this track ,the way the keyboards blend s with guitar is brill. nelson and kossoff play with there soul, you dont have to play loud and fast to be good

  • Bill Nelson is the best guitar player England ever produced. I do know the list of other English players, it is a very impressive list. Sammy is also a genius. Love, Max.

  • wonderful stuff, all round - kudos poster!

  • What a great video to go with one of BBD's best songs, man Bill Nelson is so damn good! Love the section with the keyboards and the extended solos on this version, good stuff - thanks for making this!

  • Please note also that this is one of the very best videoworks I have ever seen on YouTube, in the given genre and league. Sooo much with the music, the feel, it's a pleasure to watch.

  • Bill is a proper musician, he really feels. There are so many players who are just, well players, technicians, fast flashy around the frets, no real talent, no class, no depth.

  • Stellar Solo, certainly top five ever

  • Agreed, greatest solo ever, no debating

  • The greatest Solo ever..... End of!
