I basically played the start where I'm like some ill dude in some random woman's care, and then I leave for the forest and kill like 10 of these big mammoths.... found it too repetitive so had to let go of it. Not a huge fan of grinding unless it's balanced out.

I played around 15 minutes of Monster Hunter and found it incredibly boring, slow-paced and repetitive. However, nearly 90% of PSP gamers I have met are enjoying the complete fuck out of it. Am I missing something? Does it get better?

I gave the game enough of a chance but it was just so damn repetitive.... any other RPGs out there? I found Crisis Core to be fun (even though it was repetitive) due to it's fast narrative.

@UrbanGamers Monster hunter is a very good game if you are a fan of the series. i tried final fantasy, but didn't stick to it. it is true that you have a storyline in FF, but monster hunter gives the players that feeling of "satisfaction" after killing a monster and making new and better armors out of items that are gained.

No wonder this game isn't well known.. This guy automatically makes this game seem dull and boring.. If i narrated this, this video would be more than 4:03. This game deserves to be recognised as THE most entertaining, fun, exciting, brilliant game on the psp and by far the best graphics.. I've been play MH Tri for the Wii and i can definitely say it's the best game i have..

fact: If you see someone playing a PSP in Japan about %90 of the time they will be playing Monster Hunter

Your PS3 needs to be connected to your router with an Ethernet cable, and download Ad-Hoc Party from the PSN on your PS3. Your PSP connects to the PS3 wirelessly. Once you get the connection established, you play like in Ad-hoc, but teh PS3 tricks the PSP to think there are people nearby, but they are really connected to their PS3's like you various distances away.

imo, the best weapons are great and long sword, hammer and bow.

i abuse the long sword's spirit guage, great sword is great for it's guarding/power, hammer is the strongest of the melee but its range is such a handicap... bow for its simple yet powerful long range but it takes longer to kill than the other three. Really its just using the best weapon for the monster... like gunlance vs Khezu

The Devil Diablos (One-horned) is a normal quest in the game that can be done on nekoto (the cat) or on hr.6 or hr.9

hey i need some tips on how to get past the quest a state of crisis. thats the one where you defend the city form the giant crab thing. I have tried many times but i keep failing.

get a thunder heavy or light sword. earthquake resistance skill. aim for the legs, one at a time, there re 2 damaging states, redish and neon red if i may. attack rpeatly if it help count the strike so know when the crab react so u attack right before it strikes ...get it?! hope it helps. that how did it. if u can get bomber and element attack up. gut the gunpowder skill from fyline and all the bombs u can get..hehe

Monster Hunter is so fucking hard and the reason it takes forever to get through is because the best shit(parts) which makes the best weapons can have you doing a quest more than 18 times. Some times less and some times more. Also, it takes a very long time to get the things you need to repeat the quest. Whew! Learn to trade parts in various quest with the little trading guy to get items that would otherwise have you kill a wavern in order to get that item like pale extract or power juice.HARD!

i love how this game is finally making it to NA but i hate how they remove the blood spray effect.

i've been playing the japanese version for so when i get my hands on this version it will take a while to adjust.

during the demo, i really could not tell when i was hitting the monster, the blood effect was so small.

this is probably because of pressure from animal rights groups like PETA, which have no sway in japan.

They have Ucamulbas ( the ice version of Akantor), Hypnoc ( an elder dragon I believe that resembles a Kut-Ku and has a sleep attribute, Yamatsukami which is a flying octopus, Narugakuruga which is a bat like version of the Tigrex, and Volganos which is a fire/magma version of Plesioth. That's all I can remember off the top of my head.

I`m from Norway, and I played this game on my psp two years ago! Well, not this version. The game I had was called Monster Hunter: Freedom, pretty much the same game. So, we haven`t "missed out" on it :)

It`s a really awesome game, one of the best on the PSP!
