In fact, Delores has a far better voice than Bob Dylan. She's just good in signing in her own particular style. She does this song very well, but I've heard her try to sing more traditional songs, which rely on having a pure "good voice", like ave maria, and it wasn't good. Not trying to dis her....I love her work in the cranberries.

Certainly, you compare someone like Dylan to, say, Ray LaMontagne or Daniel Layus and they are vastly different. When I think "character" voice, it sounds demeaning, like they're intentionally trying to sound a certain way.  Bob Dylan sounds like hell, but that's why I like his voice because it's honest.

Again I must say how a great singer she is. She not only made a great version... just look at the distance from the microphone and her mouth.... Her voice is so powerful that she barely needs the microphone... Well, I just admire her and think that everybody should do the same.

This girl can sing. I have been listening to rock n' roll for over 40 years and she is one of the best. She is well grounded, beautiful, has the voice of an angel and what makes it even better . . . she's Irish and married a Canadian. This interpretation of Mac's hit is great. Remember, it's her interpretation. She's not trying to outdo Fleetwood Mac. She's taking an excellent song and giving it a twist that only a woman of her talent can do.
