I think it's a little unlikely that everything would be turned right around by a few photographs, not only was Kennedy Snr. a notorious anti-semite, but he would probably have assumed that the photographs were forged by the NKVD to portray the Nazis in a bad light as all the other evidence had been long since destroyed and those with direct knowledge of the "final solution" had been killed.

I think it's a little unlikely that everything would be turned right around by a few photographs, not only was Kennedy Snr. a notorious anti-semite, but he would probably have assumed that the photographs were forged by the NKVD to portray the Nazis in a bad light as all the other evidence had been long since destroyed and those with direct knowledge of the "final solution" had been killed.

One thing that really surprises me is that they use a disguised Rolls-Royce as Hitlers car...why not a 600 Grosser Mercedes? that would have been a more fitting car...anyway 600s are the car of choice for many modern dictators; Fidel, Idi Amin, the Shah of Iran, Hafez al Asad, (say!, most Third World dictators!!!)...even Kim il Sung!!!

In those old newsreels Eisenhower seems genuinely surprised (and appalled) when you see him go through the liberated camps.

It is leap years away from the book and considering how historically accurate the text itself was and how plausible the plot was given the revisionist history take on things, it isn't just disloyal to to book, but history itself. They clearly changed it to portray the American president in a positive light. This made it a lot more marketable...
The fact is that the book even contains extracts of genuine comments and correspondence held by Kennedy Sr. He was a well-known antisemite.

Although he had a few person ties to individual Jews, he openly expressed his dislike of them in general. He believed them to ruin everything they touched and commented that they brought on "the Night of Broken Glass" themselves. In the film Kennedy is confronted by evidence of the Holocaust. I am not saying that he would have approved of genocide, but I still find it strange that such an open anti-Semite is being portrayed that way.

I adored the book for its well-researched base and logic... This is Americanized garbage to make it acceptable for an American audience. Sentimental and unrealistic... I am really disappointed. It is also horrendously cheap-looking.
