  • I'm visiting Texas for the first time and it's taking everything I have not to try this out at all times.

  • I love this movie! And sorry to pee on anyones fire. But sadly, if you come visit Texas, this will DEFINITELY NOT be happening! I guarantee all you'll get are some strange looks lol!

  • @evilhomer81 Um, where do YOU live in TX?! Cuz it works where I live....

  • So is you scream this in Texas will everyone sing along?

  • The only big city this will work in anymore is Ft Worth

  • @clg0003 - I'm actually just moved to the DFW area & I totally feel the urge to test this out.

  • I'm actually visiting Texas in a couple of weeks..I'm tempted to try this. lol

  • I almost sang along with them.... but then I stopped myself.

    I'm too Texan sometimes :)

  • love it

  • does any one know of the houston rap that has this in it?

  • Pro tip: This song must be sung in Spanish anywhere south of San Antonio in order for this to work. ;-)

  • @dknights411 Seriously?

  • This is supposed to be funny/an exaggeration....but this would really happen! Maybe not everyone, but definately several people would respond!

  • @boondocksaints91 I know I would!

  • How'd they know? That's EXACTLY what we do on the streets!!

  • love it!!

  • lol awesome

  • The prairie bloom smells like perfume - dat dat dat dat - deep in the heart of Texas! Next verse, anybody?

  • @ThreePipeProblems this kid did :P

  • Lol I did

  • Who else watched this because of Zak Bagans linking it on twitter? xD

  • @ThreePipeProblems i most certainly did! haha

  • LMFAO i should try that

  • When I fist saw the movie, I said that with all of the rest!

  • WEE Man is great here!

  • I think it's funny how Dottie says "where?"

  • Lol. I'm from Texas and this made me laugh. xD

  • I met a Texan in NY at a dinner party at wanted to to see it really works. And sure enough after saying "The stars at night, are big & bright,' the Texan responded on cue. It was quite funny and random.

  • Texas was once its own country. Supposedly they have the right to secede from the USA if they wish.

  • @Wellch They can't secede from the USA; but they can divide itself into 5 different states. Also, the Texas flag is the only flag that can fly side-by-side with US. Everyone else has to fly their flag underneath or at a shorter height.

  • @lakebay972 It can divide itself into 5 different states, yes. But the thing about the flag is an urban legend.

  • that's amazing

  • I hope to visit Texas next summer..I'm gonna try this

  • @gaoutlaw LOL lemme know how it goes. I did this at the dallas fortworth airport, just got weird looks.

  • @krissykat24 Haha, I'm from there.

  • @krissykat24 Not the best place to do that at lol. More international travelers and out of state people there than actual Texans xD

  • For anyone curious... yes... this does work in Texas.

  • @filorps LOL really??? I just moved to houston a couple years ago. I'm going to do it the next time I go to the grocery store. I hope I don't look like an idiot....

  • @filorps cause they'll take away you Texan card if you don't.

  • How can he put a single coin in the phone and call halfway across the country without calling collect?

  • Danielle Combs

  • Makes me proud to be a Texan. :D

  • I loooooove this part

  • Haha they're all wearing cowboy hats.

  • shes kinda hot

  • @hotminn you should see her know she's a milf

  • i love how those two texans on the right just stop mid-conversation to sing along, and then immediately resume their conversation. like this is an every day occurrence.

  • haha, good times!

  • I do kind of miss Texas...

  • This works, I've done it

  • I am going to the Alamo tomorrow, and I'm going to see if Texans will do this on command.

  • @overfiendau Erm, that's a misconception that grew into an urban legend.

The truth is, he got arrested for indecent exposure during a police raid on a porno theater.

Furthermore, why would someone being a child molester make enjoying hsi acting wrong? He might strangle puppies in his spare time, but that doesn't change the fact that he's hilarious.

  • @GabeMorris is a child molester sympathiser. Wont someone think of the children!

  • @overfiendau Child molesters think of children... why do you want more people to be child molesters?

  • @GabeMorris I will be forwarding these disturbing messages of yours to the FBI. Perhaps they could put you on some kind of sex offenders watch list.

  • Love this! :)

  • The funny thing is, this would actually happen here in Texas.

  • This is based in truth.

  • The Right Person who would sing this song from the artists and celebrities today would be Renee Olstead because she was born in Texas and she would do great at singing it thanks to the producer she works with: David Foster!

  • lol that is where i live

  • Does anyone else think Dottie is really hot?

  • @ddm62571= I do. She's super cute. And she's also the voice of many cartoon characters.

  • @vigo894 Totally..there's hardly a cartoon in the past 20 years she hasn't been a part of in some manner.

  • @ddm62571 Would!

  • im frome texas

  • Haha wow, I'm so proud to be a Texan now ! :) if someone comes and tries this I will DEFINATLLY sing back, just for the hell of it. That would make my day :P

  • I gotta try that when I'm in Texas!!

  • LOL Mike Motzart makes everything funneh! P.S. The freddy kruegar pee wee herman doll wasn't an urban leagend. It was real.

  • Mike Mosart! BlogTV FTW!!!

  • Hey that's EG Daily! the voice of Tommy Pickles from Rugrats

  • @DarMar106 Yep, thats who it is, before all that plastic surgery, nip tuck and botox.

  • This is THE funniest scene in a movie I've ever seen! I saw the movie in California (where I grew up) and hadn't ever been to Texas at the time. I ended up moving to Dallas, coincidentally, a few years later...Texans are NUTS (myself included, because i'm half Texan!) This doesn't happen in Dallas (that I've seen), but I assure you, if you go to some (any) small town in this state, it WOULD work. Hilarious! And, yeah, we DON'T wear fing cowboy hats and some of us don't even say "y'all"!!!!

  • i am SO doing this next time i go to Texas.

  • it doesn't work...

  • this movie is freaking awesome... pee-wee <3

  • man i wanna try that and see if it works

  • i heard that your only suppose to do it i public outside of the state of Texas and usually if there is someone from Texas and they're a real Texan they'll clap and finish off the song...my cousin did it at Disneyland and got atleast 12 people while waiting to get on a ride lol

  • @LOLbiscuts

It does. Some friends of mine went on a trip to Texas, and they did it in a restaurant. It was epic.

  • WOOO FUCKING HOOOO

  • yeah because all of us texans wear stereotypical redneck shit

  • @TheNathanSands

This was in the 80s, they did dress like this. It was absolutely fashionable back then. Look at that Dottys and PeeWee are wearing.

  • lol. p.s. Buttercup is so cute

  • I also love the scene after Pee Wee wakes up from bull-riding:

Cowboy - "Well, don't you remember anything?"

    Pee-Wee - "I remember...the Alamo."

    *everyone cheers*

  • dammit I can't find a vid of that anywhere!

  • @TheCeannaire - Ahahaha! I remember that! Classic!

  • @TheCeannaire i loved that part being a texan myself.

  • I'm a Texan and as a kid I got to go to that place full of dinosaurs that PeeWee visits. My grandmother played music near there all the time. When you're a kid who loves PeeWee to death, it's a wonderful feeling XD

  • what part of texas is that located i always wanted to go there greetings from houston tx space city

  • Glen Rose

  • I tried this in a parking lot in Houston, Texas, and a stranger finished it for me. Apparently it's a state University cheer everyone knows

  • people think of texans as a bunch of ppl who wear freakin' cow boy hats and we all have that stupid accent and i hate it >:(

  • You'd be cooler if you did have all those things.

  • ...and Pee Wee wouldn't have been in Texas if that stupid palm reader didn't tell him.

  • Classic

  • wasn't Pee Wee also in the movie Buffey the Vampire Slayei?

  • @paidwithcash yeah thats when he grew long hair. he was also arrested with long hair

  • I'm in Texas for a family wedding...I really wanna see if this works...haha

  • its hillaaarrriiiooouuusss

  • Hahah I just moved to Texas and I love saying this, it's funny cause everyone actually does know the song! lol. Oh & did you know that they make you pledge allegiance to the USA AND the Texas flag every day at school? Haha it's strange :P But Texas truly is like a whole other country, seriously :) It's awesome.

  • I'm totally doing this next time I'm in Texas! :)

  • when ya do be sure to fill me in on what happens

  • dotties so hot....

  • She did the voice of Tommy on Rugrats

  • okay, that info was totally irrelevant to her being hot. but thanks?

  • Blossom too on PPG

  • @DeleteThisMF buttercup I mean

  • If I were old enough in the 80s I would have definitely made out with DOTTIE! gawd what a babe!

  • that jimg dude is disillusioned. ive lived in houston texas for 26 years, and i guarantee that this would definitely happen in many areas of the city. maybe not all the hats. and yeah maybe around 1am in a bar somewhere.

  • LOL! This scene always makes me crack up!

  • Dear God. It's just a joke. I'm Texan, and proud of it, and I think this is downright hilarious. xD

  • Texas knows how to party! I love it!

  • You can go into any bar in Texas and about 1am try this. It works.

  • texas rocks!

  • Shut up, yes you do.

  • I bet you're pissed at almost every country star that wears a cowboy hat that is from Texas too huh? LoL Get a grip, I'm sure no one really cares!!

  • Texas sucks, fuck you, PEE WEE IS AMAZING

  • Dude you need to LIGHTEN UP. It's called the filmmaker doing a spoof/parody. I think everyone knows Texans don't do that. You need to lighten up. This clip is funny.

  • of couse we don't, that is why it is called a sterotype.

  • i am from houston texas and nobody would do that shit if you did it here!

  • lol if i go to texas im going to do the same thing. go to a payphone and just start screamin "THE STARS AT NIGHT ARE BIG AND BRIGHT!"

  • and im from texas

  • dude i hate peewee and this is still awesome.

  • hahah classic

  • i never forgot this scene from the movie.

funny as hell. judging from the comments here, I guess I wont try it when i go to texas

  • im in texas now i gotta try this

  • What're you talking about? I live there to, and nobody would get "stabbed" for that.

  • That just happened to me here in Austin. Happens all the time. Usually just after I park my horse outside work

  • I called the Texas travel center and played this. They didn't find it funny.

  • lmao!!!! thats really funny

  • LOL, it just so happens they're ALL wearing cowboy hats and know the song! :)

  • I tried this and I got stabbed! I was in Arkansas, so it probably doesn't count.

  • If you're in arkansas just go WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO and then you'll probably get a bunch of people doing PIG! SOOIE!

  • if i go to texas im gonna try sayin that lol

  • does this really happen if you go to Texas? Are Texans really this proud of their heritage?

  • I live near Dallas. It probably depends on where you go, but could very well work like a charm : )

  • I've had confirmation from two different people.

I used to work for a woman who was originally from Dallas. She says this really happens. A few times, in the office, I'd yell it out and she'd respond appropriately.

My wife was in Texas with some friends in high school. She says she stood up in a Denny's and yelled it out and got the whole room to respond.

  • Texans are proud of there heritage. When I was a kid in the 80s we sang it in school.I dont no if they steel sing it I guess you can do a search on youtube.

  • Comment removed

  • I LOVE THIS CLIP!! :) thanks for posting!!

  • I was at Universal Studios Los Angeles and this show host (upon finding out a guest was from Texas) announced the beginning part of this song, and my fiancee and me were the only ones to sing along with the end... he was surprised anyone knew what he was talking about... ahahah

  • Heck I'd sing along, and I'm from Ohio haha.

    I love this movie

  • Is it true that Texans still think of their state as "The Lone Star State?" Like they want to be their own separate place, just how the people in Quebec want Quebec to be its own country?

  • Probably... I think technically they never "OFFICIALLY" rejoined the United States after the Civil War

  • No they petitioned to be part of the US even before the Civil War, after they won their independence from Mexico.

  • Yes, we citizens of The Republic of Texas have the right to secede from the United States and become an independaet state if we choose. It was part of the agreement in our annexation.

  • Texas sure has a lot of spirit.

    a-apparently.

  • What a cute scene this is! Although I'm not a crazy fan of this movie it will still be my own childhood favorite movie to watch from time to time! Thanks again. :)

  • Has anyone here ever been in the basement of the Alamo?

  • There's no basement in the Alamo!

Now for the 1000 uses of Corn...

  • jajajajaja p
