5:27 I just spotted Mr. Iwerks re-using "jokes", on the ever so famous "steamboat willie" pegleg pete does the same kick, missing mickey and kicking his own rear in the same fashion, i'd post the approx. time he did it but im lazy...
@adamtheskunk in addition to that, there also seems to be some material borrowed from the Fleischer Brothers' "Dizzy Dishes", which came out the year prior to this. "Dizzy Dishes" stars Bimbo as a waiter who at one point is distracted by a performer (Betty Boop in her first appearance), and dances on stage, while a customer, tired of waiting, eats his silverware between two plates.
Paul DeDroit playing drums (and doing much of the sound effects on his drum kit). A shame the sound track isn't in better shape (I wonder if the hum was a problem on the original or just the print this derives from). One of the few Flip the Frogs where the music gets a bit hot-- DeDroit was well regarded as a jazz drummer by his fellow musicians but unfortunately too few recordings of him in that context.

I can see how RALPH BASHKI tried to subvert IWERK'S style in his much later---early 70s 'FRITZ the CAT'.

yeah, I found it odd when, I guess due to early sound issues that pre-1932 MGM movies had the lion but it didn't roar.
