listen. Traxxas does not say that their products are COMPLETELY waterPROOF. but waterRESISTANT. water is able to seep through into the reciever box through the wire housing. For them to be ABSOLUTELY WATERPROOF it takes some personal modifications that will void the products warranty. And they also give guidelines as to how they should be run in deep water. Completely submarining your system without mods will most likely cause this problem as i found out with my mini slash VXL.

@artgsxr1000 plastidip. put all the plugs in the receiver that you are going to, and spray it with several coats ( thick, but not running or dripping) and it will be waterproof. i did that with my receiver before 2.4ghz or receiver boxes ever got used on rc cars.

Water got into the traxxas connectors resulting in the current from the battery not being able to reach the ESC. this happened to me when I first got my 1/16 summit vxl and I thought I broke it lol. I did some tests and realized that if you dont have the connectors tightly pushed together or sealed, the water will get into the connectors and cause it to lose power.

Ok first off all traxxas are not completely "waterproof" yes you can run them in water if you chose and have a brushless motor and waterproof exc like the summit but you should never fully submerge the truck like in this vid it can seiz bearings or worse fry unprotected components if u run ur traxxas rc in water always dry it off afterwards and oil the bearings if you don't have fun spending about $100 or more buying what ever bearings seized the motor if brushed and possibly other stuff but I
