@nino4100 if you go to Pivot Point Academy, you pay $150 for the kit, out of pocket, and the rest is billed to your tuition. The kit costs about 3,000 I believe but I'm not totally sure.
@quejanj the school that i go to teach ethnic hair, like press in curling , fingerwaves, but they arent very detailed. I kinda try to talk to the other african american student at the school and kind of build off of their knowledge. We kinda teach each other what we know..I have demo'ed braids, two strand twist, flat twist, twistout. and alot of people are interested in learning,, even other races what to know how we do what we do.:)
Congrats Im also going to a pivot point school. I start on the 24th of this month, and I am super excited. Good luck with everything God Bless You!!!!!!
@Avixonsdyynasty Honestly, even though you're in school, it's really up to you to be prepared. I went to school at nights and there was a lot I didn't receive compared to the day students. I went in with a lot of questions and I also knew information others didn't. I was the only one who had natural hair for a while on the night shift. So of course anytime anyone came in w/locs or natural hair, I had to do it. I hated it, BUT I can do a retwist in 20 minutes! So in a small way it prepared me.
i was excited when i went to cosmetology school...i'm glad i'm out that piece too! lol...enjoy, and ask many many many questions, because once you get into the shop, it's all on you, boo! congrats!
Congrats Tarsha! keep us posted on how things go with it. That's different how they're doing the doll heads now. It's like ripping her scalp off LOL..
i love the hairstyle on your mannequin head.

Do you go to a school that specializes in natural hair for african americans? Like braids and such. I know a lot of schools don't teach that =/
