I say, i'm not being sexist, but I plan to add 2-3 maxi pads to mine. They are great for helping to stop bleeding. The maxi pads evolved form WWII medical kits. It was adapted for women use because of it's absorbency. Like I said, I'm not being sexist, or against women. The absorbency will help you clot a wound, but the thing is that you have to leave it on the wound until you can get professional medical help. You can keep adding the pads on as necessary.
Great vid!! Was woundering your take on the BloodStop compared to the QuickClot. I don't really see any videos on this yet. As a beginner, this would be a great comparison test to do for application. I have the SOL-3 and am now ready to expand on its contents. Always looking for educated suggestions. Thank you for your time and consideration.
I'm with you on a lot of commercial kits, generally a lot of things you could buy in bulk at the pharm. But this certainly looks like a nice gift set. Thanks
btw bro, i have noticed or more to the point not noticed, that hardly anyone carries pepper satchles or toothpaste in there 1st aid/survival kits. Pepper (black ground Cayenne is the best but normal pepper is fine) is outstanding at stopping bleeding, toothpaste (plain old normal, nothing fancy) is great for CLOSED burns kills the pain and helps in the healing (it works 1st taught it in the Royal Marines and in personal experince) both dont take up room, anyway just my .2 peace stay safe bro
@TheDishD WOW.. I never knew about those.. I will have to give it a try.. (although, it might take me awhile to burn myself.. LOL) Thanks for the tips..
Good quick way to get a basic kit fast to have while you're putting together a custom kit if you're a beginner like me. Then if you don't use it you can stash it in your spouses car, or a desk drawer at work, or a teenager's closet, lots of options. Options are good.
@TangoMikeFoxtrot I agree.. It is a great starting point.. Even for someone like me who has custom built kits, this is a great all in one to just grab and go.. thanks for watching TMF
@ixVENGEFULxi Yes I do. I keep a Get Home Bag, which is just a smaller version of my BOB. Right now, mostly wool blanket, gloves, hat, MRE's, water, plus a lot of basic tools and maintenance products. (oil, antifreeze, etc) I'll try to get a video of it sometime
@ramsd1 Great idea on the two ointments. Thank you. Also, thank you for the kind words and for taking the time to watch the videos. Have a great knife
That looks like a great option if you want a prepackaged medical/survival kit. I like the items that you added to the kit. Great job and thanks for sharing Trevor.
@edgedweapon88 Thank you Keelen. Surprisingly I really like this kit. I usually build my own, but I catch myself taking from different packs/BOB's and I forget to put them back. With this, I can just move it from pack to pack and keep all the other stuff in my BOB.. thank you for watching my friend
great reveiw, i too am a lil wary of pre-packed med/ survival kits but this one looks pretty good, cheers for posting this, best wishes and take care.
I have looked at some of AMK small survival kits and thought they were a little pricey for the comntents included, and was not sure as to the quality. The largre kit looks pretty good though. Enjoyed the review.
@MBlackford100 Thank you sir. I agree that they can be a little spendy, but for a gift to someone that doesn't have the knowledge or motivation to build their own, this is the ticket. Thanks for watching
Good review as always. I carry the AMK First Aid 1.0 in my backpack. Has the same medical supplies but only the compass and whistle for survival. I got it at my local Army Navy store. One question I have had is about the medical supplies such as the antiseptic wipes, and antibiotic cream. is what is the shelf life? How often should they be replaced? Everything else has an expiration date. I am going to assume that they are good till you open it :)
@mwig50 I would also assume that they are good until opened. Usually the wipes are just alcohol, but I'm not sure about the cream. Also, they aren't edibles like the medicines, so you don't' have to worry about ingesting any harmful germs..thats my guess anyway.. Thanks for watching my friend
Imagine what morphine will be worth in a S.O.L. scenario.
That is a VERY nice kit for a basic set up. Thanks for sharing.
Don't forget your local "feed mill' for animal meds without a script. You will need an education to transfer use to humans in a scenario that would require it. You can always have meds like penicillin for your pets. =)
Was that a home made fishing kit?

nice little kit. I would add a pea lighter, contractor bag, a few ranger bands, water purification tabs and a energy bar.
That would be a great Xmas gift for pretty much anyone...I think I should get one for my wife to keep in her car.

Sorry, but that's not Wet Fire... It looks like Tinder Quick.

@oregonmikes They usually run around $60. But you can use my coupon code to get 10% off.
Thanks for the heads up on the Wet Fire/ Tinder Quick. I've never used those, as I usually make my own fire starting tinder.
