I installed a new operating system on my computer and its windows professional black. I don't have any viruses or anything either i checked. But I think during the installation i changed the hard drives, so it stores things like program files and documents and settings in my local (d;) drive which for some reason is now my (I;) drive. It doesn't have much memory and i can't figure out how to get it to store information on my (c;) drive which has much more memory on it

if you instal a new motherboard you need to instal you operatinig system agais so it can cofigure the drivers and al the new spects like more usb's, new bios graphics card so the windows need to update that news so the only thing you need is reinstaling your operating system :D

Here's a question for ya, how would I install XP from an image on a working system? To better explain, I have a working laptop, but "no" working floppy or CD/DVD drive. The system is too old to boot from USB. So how would you create a partition within XP, then copy an image to that partition, and then reboot the computer to the new partition and begin the install of windows XP?

Does that make sense? It's the only way I can think to reinstall windows on this system. But how would you do it?

Yes, get a USB hard drive caddy and stick the hard drive in that!! Its no good puttung Windows XP on a 15gb Hard Disk, wont last more than a day before its full!! Get a REAL hard disk! 1 Terrabyte is not bad for a start. I am on 6tb at the moment, but my system is getting a little sluggish. Time for an upgrade me thinks..

You will have to go into ur bios to see if your HD is being detected. makes sure your conections are right. makes sure that ur jumper settings are correct.
