Why doesn't Chris ever just SHRED like a real jazz trumpet player? Lord knows he can! He could be playing MUSIC with like Roy Hargrove, Tbone Shorty, Robert Glasper, etc. but instead he just picks the most famous people he can, and it rarely lives up to expectations. At least to my ears. Give me RH factor or Russell Gunn as jazz-crossover rather than this kind of stuff any day. I love Botti's sound, love his style, but he always plays ballads, and he's not old enough to do just that.
