@pgalatioto Dude. I've been asking my drum teacher how to do this for months and he never knows what I'm talking about! Thanks so much! One question. You're rolling on the toms/snare during this fill right?
@scribblymish yes.. but you can asily do the fill with one foot better than this sloppy example. Practice doing doubles with your foot. By this, I mean lift your leg up at the hip. Drop down and hit the tip of your toes in the center of pedal. Next slap the back of your heel and flat foot stomp. Do it SLOW SLOW SLOW. One motion dropping and 2 hits. Make it fluid and practice making both hits the same volume and sound.
@disturbancedrums in other words, a basic fill! (well i started off with these sort of fills in lessons, they're not hard on bit) go try learning ANY beat from zach hill, or any gospel chops drummer....the first epic fill i've learned was steve gadd's 32nd note linear groove pattern! plus funk, and "gospel chops" fills are what's epic, metal has become so trite, i no longer care for 90% of the metal bands...exceptions are animals as leaders, periphery, chimp spanner, and bulb!
@AngerLord1 set aside a few hours one day and start slow. i bet you'll get it, it's worth it to learn because of all the millions of variations that are possible. Good luck buddy!
Super clean! This pattern (RLRLBB) and the straight semiquaver equivalent (RLBB) basically have given me the ability to make any relatively inexperienced drummer (or better yet, not drummer)'s jaws drop without breaking a sweat, I love it! That is of course until they figure it out for themselves and realise I was just a phoney all along ;)
@pgalatioto Using two pedals to play the bass drum really fast is like using two hands to play the snare or toms really fast. Where is the cheating in that? That is a fill I've been working on for a while but still haven't nailed it down. Sounds awesome and keep it up!
Hey, I have been practicing these patterns for awhile now - but having a hard time getting the bass drum sound that you and other drummers like Mike Portnoy get. I have recently bought a danmar double pad but haven't tried it yet. Any tips?
@RockDrummah96 hey thanks, I think the camera I used has a lot to do with it. I'm in love with the thing.. Its the Zoom Q3HD camcorder, which was designed for live music recordings!
@Killenmachine05 haha I believe I was using one foot during the fill. Good point though, drummers should be able to do quick doubles with one pedal, just like our Grandparents used to do it
Oh my gosh! You are awesome and really good at the drums and you don't have a huge ego.... AWESOME.

If double bass was cheating, they wouldn't have created it in the first place. If you use it right, it's melodic. Nice vid bro.

Once you start mixing in the odd splash cymbal, that's when you start sounding like Portnoy or Lang.

@MrSloroll i dont see how? when it is basede around a certain style of music, it also requires much more coordination and control the a single pedal.
