  • Oh my gosh! You are awesome and really good at the drums and you don't have a huge ego.... AWESOME.

  • hey just wandering what drum kit that is and what heads are those? great lesson thanks alot buddy (:

  • @pgalatioto Dude. I've been asking my drum teacher how to do this for months and he never knows what I'm talking about! Thanks so much! One question. You're rolling on the toms/snare during this fill right?

  • This fill is awesome if have a bell to hit in between tom hits

  • PGA this isn't sloppy by any means shut the fuck up.

  • thanks man this REALLY HELPED ME!

  • U using double bass pedal because i dont have one

  • @scribblymish yes.. but you can asily do the fill with one foot better than this sloppy example. Practice doing doubles with your foot. By this, I mean lift your leg up at the hip. Drop down and hit the tip of your toes in the center of pedal. Next slap the back of your heel and flat foot stomp. Do it SLOW SLOW SLOW. One motion dropping and 2 hits. Make it fluid and practice making both hits the same volume and sound.

  • @pgalatioto Thanks for the tip! I'll try it.

  • I'm not as smooth and fast as you are but Thanks for sharing this lick. And I love that beat after the fill :05 that is classic youtube!!!

  • @simodrummer09 welcome sir

  • Cheers mate! I learnt this fill in less than a week from your teachings!!!

  • can't hear you man speak up!

  • Excellent. Beautiful sounding toms to :)

  • it's the Mike Portnoy pattern!

  • @disturbancedrums in other words, a basic fill! (well i started off with these sort of fills in lessons, they're not hard on bit) go try learning ANY beat from zach hill, or any gospel chops drummer....the first epic fill i've learned was steve gadd's 32nd note linear groove pattern! plus funk, and "gospel chops" fills are what's epic, metal has become so trite, i no longer care for 90% of the metal bands...exceptions are animals as leaders, periphery, chimp spanner, and bulb!

  • 0:04 hahah Epic Face xD

  • hey nice video man, what is your drum kit called?

  • @CarlRogersDrumming its called a drum set, drum kit, acoustic drum etc

  • i all ways wondered why u get that "bass" kinda sound in fills wow ty lol

  • That was nice man! You broke it down well and played it with perfection!

  • DAYUM!!! Wish I would have purchased the double petal when I bought my Iron Cobra! I just didn't ever think I would use it. :(

  • how do you do this ive been trying for years!!

  • @AngerLord1 set aside a few hours one day and start slow. i bet you'll get it, it's worth it to learn because of all the millions of variations that are possible. Good luck buddy!

  • Dude that was so cool but that one part made me laugh so bad

  • Holy Crap i loved this.

  • nice dude can you do me a huge favor and break down the second part of this vid where you do different tom patterns?

  • i didnt regret this at all lmao :)

  • that is SWEET!

  • is that an OC venice kit?

  • 0:25

  • nice but couldnt hear you talking

  • NICE KIT

  • OMFG THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

  • @azerbijon123 Nice!!! I love your enthusiasm.

  • @pgalatioto Its like the drum fill for psychosocial! Looked on how to do it for like 2 years! never quite got it perfect until this video!:)

  • @pgalatioto lol he dosent have money haha

  • you just blew my mind.. O.O

  • Super clean! This pattern (RLRLBB) and the straight semiquaver equivalent (RLBB) basically have given me the ability to make any relatively inexperienced drummer (or better yet, not drummer)'s jaws drop without breaking a sweat, I love it! That is of course until they figure it out for themselves and realise I was just a phoney all along ;)

  • your right i didn't regret it... that was cool

  • @garrettgerbil13 ha thanks !

  • LMAO double bass is cheat? welcome to the 21st Centry idiot. Soon Computer will be inside us.

  • thanks soo much man... this is fun...

  • @stepb28 thank you for checkin it out!

  • meh

  • Well you can tell you rim shot

  • If double bass was cheating, they wouldn't have created it in the first place. If you use it right, it's melodic.

  • Once you start mixing in the odd splash cymbal, that's when you start sounding like Portnoy or Lang.

  • very nicely miced

  • @AbrubtParadox thank you!

  • @pgalatioto Using two pedals to play the bass drum really fast is like using two hands to play the snare or toms really fast. Where is the cheating in that? That is a fill I've been working on for a while but still haven't nailed it down. Sounds awesome and keep it up!

  • that was excelent!

  • @diperrimax thank you!

  • double base is for cheaters

  • @MrSloroll so you expect to play 16th notes at 200-300 bpm on one petal?

  • @MrSloroll It's called technical advancements. hahaha

  • @MrSloroll no its for awsome drum beats

  • @MrSloroll double BASS is for those who can spell

  • @MrSloroll i dont see how? when it is basede around a certain style of music, it also requires much more coordination and control the a single pedal.

  • @MrSloroll propa gramma iz 4 cheeterz

  • @MrSloroll People who think double bass is for cheaters are likely missing a significant portion of their brain.

  • Hey, I have been practicing these patterns for awhile now - but having a hard time getting the bass drum sound that you and other drummers like Mike Portnoy get. I have recently bought a danmar double pad but haven't tried it yet. Any tips?

  • @MrSloroll one bass pedal is for basic drum stuff.

  • @MrSloroll Dont be bitter because you cant afford the second one...

  • easy peasy japanesy! (hope that didnt offend anyone). easy, but a very effective fill. NICE!

  • @TheAlphaChode it's a venice series orange county drum set.

  • @skywarior35 exactly! thanks

  • @pgalatioto np dude. i got the same exact set. its got a sick ass bass drum!

  • those drums sound like heaven, i gotta say.

  • @RockDrummah96 hey thanks, I think the camera I used has a lot to do with it. I'm in love with the thing.. Its the Zoom Q3HD camcorder, which was designed for live music recordings!

  • @pgalatioto the zoom is the shit! love that thing..

  • Awesome man

  • @Ricythackas Thank you man

  • will give you street cred with the inexperienced to double bass. set sounds nice dude

  • @slicksimmons THanks man! Yea the goal is to get this one with a single pedal! Great fill for a beginning double basser for sure...

  • Hot titties! What a great fill!

  • @PandaBearPuppy scalding mamories!! thanks!

  • Excuse me, but what kind of drums are those? They sound amazing.

  • @ErockBitches Dang, my bad! Darn mic too far away haha

  • now do it with one foot ;)

  • @Killenmachine05 haha I believe I was using one foot during the fill. Good point though, drummers should be able to do quick doubles with one pedal, just like our Grandparents used to do it

  • very smooth man. nice sounding kit too

  • I couldnt hear you!

  • Thanks for watching guys!

  • dang thas nasty!!!!
