I don't think Cro cop wants to admit he lost the killer instinct with that speed. He never set the kick up in 115 he just threw it where as in 05 he would punch you 4 times in the blink of any eye then kick your head off.
I don't think he's old. He's only 35. I think he can go another 5 years. It's just the heavy weights in the UFC are much tougher than the ones in Pride. Cro Cop and Minotauro have both struggled since moving to UFC. It's because of the talent there, not his age

Pride was very different to UFC, that it was. You have to put in account that Pride bouts were placed in a ring & the culture was alot different, so many fighters can find UFC quite alien. Another factor is the fighters in Pride fought very more often, with little notice and little training catered to their opponent, they just tried peaking theirselves all round.

People forget that even though Crocop is only 35 he has had 105 fights total, 37 MMA fights, 23 K1 fights and 45 amateur kickboxing fights. So even though he is only 35 he has taken a lot of damage over the years.

Mirko Cro Cop finally adapted to the UFC. You can tell in his personality, he is not as nervous anymore. His training is completely different now.And his style has changed. He is now a fighter that will take the fight to the ground if he has too. He had to much pride in his fighting style, but now he realized that every aspect of fighting is important. Stand up, ground fighting, submissions and even proper training.
that was his big mistake .. training.. when cro cop fought against cheick kongo.. 1sr round he was doing great.. after that he just stopped.. conditioning is big key in any sports.. imagine if cro cop trains in camps like most of this mma fighters.. he would be more dangerous than a hungry african lion. cro cop the best

Both fighters did good I got to say. I think Barry in all fairness could've won but he needed to be moreaggressive so hopefully he learnt that now. First time he dropped cro cop, if you have seen his body gesture and his face, you'd realize that he was thinking "I can't believe I just dropped Cro cop", second time he knocked him down, cro cop stood up fast. Also, I believe if cro cop wants to become a contender he has to throw much more kicks, punches and increase his movement.

I used to be a huge CroCop fan & he was amazing once upon a time. He did gain a victory in this fight...but here is my take on it:
I may be wrong about this; but we'll see. It seems that Cro Cop "befriended" Barry in a very timely way.

Mirko Cro Cop finally adapted to the UFC. You can tell in his personality, he is not as nervous anymore. His training is completely different now.And his style has changed. He is now a fighter that will take the fight to the ground if he has too. He had to much pride in his fighting style, but now he realized that every aspect of fighting is important. Stand up, ground fighting, submissions and even proper training.

that was his big mistake .. training.. when cro cop fought against cheick kongo.. 1sr round he was doing great.. after that he just stopped.. conditioning is big key in any sports.. imagine if cro cop trains in camps like most of this mma fighters.. he would be more dangerous than a hungry african lion. cro cop the best

Cro Cop is back! He's prolly not gonna be the best but he makea a damn good gatekeeper. I think he's more focused, less tense, less nervous, and know's how to train to win. He's getting up there in age but he's in his prime.

@alpinam3 i saw the fight cro cop was dominating and at the end of the first round nog was saved by the bell. nogs problem now is that he suddenly thinks he is an awesome boxer and he wants to stand up with everebody,thets why he loses now...if he was fighting like he fought in pride (on the ground)he would be tough to beat...he should have taken cain and mir to the ground and he would have won...fedor couldn't knock him out in 3 fights...but he would stand against cro cop these days...

Both fighters did good I got to say. I think Barry in all fairness could've won but he needed to be moreaggressive so hopefully he learnt that now. First time he dropped cro cop, if you have seen his body gesture and his face, you'd realize that he was thinking "I can't believe I just dropped Cro cop", second time he knocked him down, cro cop stood up fast. Also, I believe if cro cop wants to become a contender he has to throw much more kicks, punches and increase his movement.

I used to be a huge CroCop fan & he was amazing once upon a time. He did gain a victory in this fight...but here is my take on it:
I may be wrong about this; but we'll see. It seems that Cro Cop "befriended" Barry in a very timely way.
Could Cro Cop have used this "Friendship" to gain an advantage over his younger opponent? Was it just a ruse? It was what was going through my head; all the lovey dovey ended when CC beat him. Then CC didn't have time for Barry anymore...maybe? FLAME AWAY! =)

@matrix13thfloor I lost some interest in CC when I heard his BS concerning Fedor; Fedor is my absolute favorite fighter & if anyone in MMA deserves respect; it is Fedor.
So now im wondering, was CC just trying to befriend Barry to his own advantage? Make him feel he was being all buddy buddy with him so he'd use kid gloves on him...while CC unleashes all he has left on poor old Barry? I sure HOPE NOT. I'd like to respect Mirko again...but we'll have to see how well they remain buddies.

@KICO19ZG Its a suspicion that is all. Why do I have this suspicion? Well, he was a cop to begin with, and the "friendship" seems so very coincidental and it played into CCs hands in a very fortunate way.
Believe me, I was as big a fan of CroCop as anyone; and I HOPE I'm wrong; believe me I do; nevertheless, this fight was not a Mirko in his prime. In his prime, Barry would have been on the floor pretty darn quick.
This was just a suspicion thrown out there to see if anyone else picked up on it

He could be a contender at 205, that class is shit right now outside of Shogun and Machida. I just don't know if he could get hsi weight down that low without losing some serious power in his hands and feet. Cro Cop is def a heavyweight, but he won't be able to hang with the huge monsters like Brock and Carwin. I would love to see him fight Frank Mir next.

I just found out Barry broke his hand in the 1st round and then broke his foot in the 2nd. Thats probably the worst thing to happen to you while fighting Cro Cop. No wonder he looked fatigued and hesitant to strike with him after the 1st round.
I hope Cro Cop avenges all his UFC losses. I dont see him going for a title run, but would love to see him beat the living crap out of Big Nog, Roy Nelson, Stephan Struve, and Frank Mir.
He should move to LHW and dominate
