  • LIved ther for almost a year when I was 11, went to Wes tSide Elementary!

  • Is Idaho a good place to live in? Is it expensive to live there?

  • @jrd151962 They have the same core beliefs as any other Christian sect. They are not "it" but neither is anybody else. I am not religious, but I was born and raised in Idaho, and have been around Mormons my entire life. There are a lot of misconceptions and ridiculous comments about them.

  • I was born here, and still am here.

    I love Idaho Falls!

I would go to the Greenbelt right now, if it wasn't winter...

But it still is pretty in the winter... Just colder.

  • I will be staying in Idaho Falls in July/August. I'm from Australia so I'm looking forward to it!

  • @ensignrussell when you come to idaho falls u need to go see dora ericson. its on cleavlend. if theres a bond when u come up vote yes. y because the heater hardly works. and in the winter part of the power goes off alot.

  • man i remember living in Idaho when i was a kid...the pepople there are really nice....but this year i went to vsit n some ppl were puttuing the middle finger in the air n i was thinking wadafuk....but i found out they dont like ppl from cali???

  • Fuck Shit Cock Titties Lickin Asshole

  • To all those who think that the LDS community in Idaho Falls is oppressive, part of life is coexisting with different people. Just because someone has a different belief system doesn't mean that they are oppressing you. And just because elected leaders share a certain faith doesn't mean they are conspiring to create a theocracy. This town has no shortage of bars, coffee shops, tobacco depots, or places to rent porn. So grow up, take some responsibility for your own lives, and quit whining!

  • @spudmustang The LDS community in Idaho Falls is just like any other religious community in their promotion of misogyny, bigotry and irrationality. But in a town where 85% of the population has the same imaginary friend, that force becomes excessively divisive. Anyone who stands on the outside of religion can see that the mormons in Idaho Falls ARE oppresive. And the fact that there are bars, coffee shops, tobacco shops, and porn stores only shows that capitolism trumps religious views.

  • @neckbreakerb The minority always feels oppressed and ignored. That's democracy. A Mormon living in a town where 85% of the people are atheists could also claim to be oppressed. That's why capitalism is so wonderful. Everyone is allowed to live, do, and think as they choose regardless of what the majority believes. But that doesn't mean that Mormons are oppressive. If you have specific examples, I would love to hear them. From what I see, though, Mormons take much more animosity than they give.

  • @neckbreakerb I live in Idaho Falls, am not religious, and I see none of this oppression from the Mormons that you claim. I wish they'd stop knocking on my door though.

  • Idaho Falls born and raised, I love this city thats all I got to say.

  • @FallsTown187 Me too!

  • @FallsTown187

    Me three!

  • For some reason your camera makes the Falls look a little out of context. They are really not that big in person. Other then that all I can say is it is a nice place to visit but not live. Mormans run the city into the ground. But oh well glad I left and only have to visit to see family.

  • i live here beautiful town nice place to walk by the snake river...............farmers market May-October every saturday

  • Why do I watch this when I could get on my bike for 5 minutes and see the real thing? Nice place to live. I've seen a lot of tour groups stop off there at the falls.

  • @EVSjahms

Yeah, I have seen the tourist buses also here. And I agree with you, being there is much prefered!

  • I lived in Idaho Falls for 2 years. When I found out there was only one real liquor store in the entire town, I got the hell out of there.

  • lol funny i came name 4 for you

  • Actually there are four liquor stores in Idaho Falls, that I know of, and they have all been here for years.

  • Yeah there are like 4 liquor stores in idaho falls ive lived here my whole life and i cant even drink legally yet and i know that.

  • Haha good call! Sept now there are 3 I believe and a beer fest. But still infested and ran by a Mormon population.

  • Who in the world are to to judge on rather people go to hell or not I desi[pise people like you you pretend to be theLord Jesus Himself and you are not. You are a anti christ no doubt.

  • u live here too i was well am being born and raised

  • classic "christian" comment. everyones going to hell but me cause i said Jesus save me. insanity . jesus said love your neighbor not damn them. Jesus said hes the judge not you. p.s. who are you to say that lds dont accept Jesus as thier savior? biggot

  • Easy. I understand the frustration, but I don't allow personal attacks or swearing here. Please be respectful. Thank you.

  • It is not anywhere near the truth.

  • Don't be ludicrous, k?

  • In history class, we learned that originally there weren't any "falls" in idaho falls, there were some rapids, and some city slickers from Boston decided to call them falls. The falls that are there now are a man-made hydroelectric dam that has been somewhat nature-scaped. And I think idaho Falls used to be called Eagle Rock and Taylor Bridge

  • Yep, that's pretty much correct. They are still fun and nice to see and video however.

  • whoodeeedoodee,

    Good choice!

    I'm proud of you : )

  • whoopdeedoo,

I'm glad your going to drop it!

I wouldn't take the bait either because you would'nt get anywhere; fact is, I was not in the wrong in complementing the beauty above. I do forgive you for taking a jab at me and I hope you can forgive me if I have offended you.

  • I guess when one tells a guy who builds, or is really into engines, to " cool his jets" it makes him angry lol ... ( sorry )

I didn't mean to offend you.

  • whoopdeedoodee,

I sense some bitterness or are you just bias?

I take it your not LDS?

I believe we can find beauty "everywhere" even in an LDS community? ; )

Have you noticed the sunsets there and how beautiful they are?

    I have.

  • whoopdeedoodee,

I sense some bitterness.... Yes,.. no ?

I take it your not LDS?

  • and, I am no more stubborn then you are. ; )

  • whoopdeedoodee....

    lol...You're making me laugh : )

  • whoopdeedoodee,

say what you want, but this morning I had an email from you in my personal email ...

I'm sorry you didn't find anything special in the beauty of Idaho falls, but I did.

I also liked seeing the temple in the back drop.

I'm sorry it annoyed you so much that I expressed it, and that it didn't meet up to your standards, but the beauty far exceeded my standards...

  • To see beauty such as this, right in the middle of a city is extraordinary and uncommon. I absolutely love it ! I would love walking out my door into this! I do hope you have a good day and see the beauty which does surround you there where you live.. it is grand!

look! and you will see : )

    Good day

  • Yes I did focus exclusively on the falls, because, as the title of my video is called "Why they call my town Idaho Falls. It is due to these falls that the earlier town "Eagle Rock," was changed to the current name "Idaho Falls." No reasons for anyone to get riled up here folks, I was just showing why my town is called what it is called.

  • whoopdeedoodee,

Oh no, I was not offended, I was just a little taken back, that you would take the effort to send me an email just to tell me who wrong I was in thinking a portion of the falls reminded me of a place I saw in alaska. I certainly was not offended, but the relentless obstinatance on here wearies at times.

  • whoopdoodee,

I don't know what your problem is, but a section of the falls reminded me of a place I saw in alaska.

    cool your jets

  • Nothing is like Alaska! GRIN! And it is not farmer's fields as far as you can see. Looking out over the desert, I can see the Lemhi Mountains just 60 miles on the other side of the valley. Looking east just a mere 15 miles and you get Taylor Mountain and foothills, and a mere 15 miles further you run into the mountains running into Jackson Hole. But I do note, it isn't like Alaska.

  • It reminds me of alaska, is there salmon in thoser waters?

  • drop the r on those ( typo sorry)

  • No, no salmon, but there are sturgeon, those they are 100 miles down stream from here. There are however, some very good whopping trout in these waters.

  • Yummy!

Trout, outdoor fire, frying pan, butter and lemon!

  • Hello, : )

    At 3:20 I noticed a steepled building and another one at 3:30;

    what buildings are they?

  • Yes, one is the Idaho Falls temple, the other is the LDS stake center.

  • I had no idea all that beauty was there !

I have never seen anything like it!

    Talk about living waters!! WOW!!

This video left me in complete awe!

  • Heh...... this is nuthin..... wait til ya get a glimpse of the dude runnin the camera - lol......

  • Is that a good "Oh my goodness"? GRIN!

  • were you there during the teton dam breaking? If I remember right the falls got enough junk stuck in it that it caused a temporary dam and flooded the area?

Isn't the temple in the background?

  • It is the tmeple, and yes I was here when the Teton Dam broke, and I was right here sand baggin like crazy for 49 straight hours. Ah the glories of youth and endurance.

  • "yes I was here when the Teton Dam broke, and I was right here sand baggin like crazy for 49 straight hours"

if it makes you feel better I watched you guys do the sandbagging. I did do my part (sort of) with the PB&J sandwiches=)

  • You were here also?! How FUN! Well...... I mean that night and next day wasn't any fun, without question. Oh the cleanup missions to Rexburg were days never to be forgotten. What a marvelous thing it was getting to know our neighbors to the north and mkaing eternal friends everywhere.
