I bought one of these when they first hit my dealer, and thought I would give it a chance over my preferred S&W M&P Pro 9. Since I've been shooting the M&P for over a year now I found it very hard to like the XD-M 5.25. The trigger out of the box was at 7.14#!!!! What is "Competition Ready" about a 7+ pound trigger? Needless to say I sold my XD-M and bought ANOTHER M&P Pro 9 that had a 'from the factory' trigger sitting right at 4.5 pounds. Springfield needs to take a hint, and fix this!
My question is, Is this gun to heavy to carry concealed? I mean it looks heavy, whats the loaded weight on it? I have the taurus 24/7pro .40 cal and I think it might be a little bulky to carry concealed! Im looking for somethin around a 4" barrel and lightweight, concealable and has some stopping power!!
@xZarthornx thanks Ive looked at a glock 23 but to be honest it just didnt feel right in my hand! Any thoughts on the a XD .40 is there a XD .40 or .45 maybe a 357 that has a 4'' barrel and is lightweight and concealable?
I really wanted one until I saw they have about a 7 pound trigger, it's not a target pistol in my eyes... it's a service pistol they put a long slide and barrel on. Really bummed to because this one really got me wanting to buy one.
@TheDubDoubt Actually per Springfield it's 195 for them to do it, if you bothered to go on springfields site and look up a competition trigger job you'd know that. This gun runs 700+ dollars now That's alota coin to drop on a gun that's "competition ready" to have to turn around and send back to springfield. Your talking an investment of over 900 dollars when your done for a polymer gun. If that's wise to you, go get one, post a vid on it, shoot the hell outa it and enjoy, I'll get a G34 myself
Didn't mention anything about the match grade barrel though

Rob is so friggin cool. Talks sort of geeky, but can unload a 1911 on your face at 10 yards in about a second and a half.
