  • HEY GREAT VIDEO THANKS FOR YOUR HELP

  • dude thanks a million. i just followed your steps and it was actually pretty easy to change. just saved me a couple hundred bucks!

  • I did this myself thanks to this video! How much did I save by doing it myself?

  • @JimmyDangerBones probably 100 bucks in labor and 50 to 100 bucks to have it towed plus fresh coolant.

  • We followed the video for replacing the heater elbows yesterday. Now the heater works and the leak has stopped. However, there was a piece of the old elbow that we couldn't get and fell back in the intake manifold cavity. Will this hurt the cooling system and how can we get it out.? We already put everything back on the car.

  • I fucking know that the upper and lower intake manifolds on a 3800 Series 2 motor needs to be replace to fix that damn notorious coolant leak. I have a 2002 Buick LeSabre and I am suspecting that there is a small coolant leak in my upper intake manifold. I keep getting a P0420 also which is a Catalytic Converter Efficiency Below Threshold Bank 1 code. I thing that problem is also keep ruining my caty..

  • You are a GOD SEND! I was told that replacing the fitting would be a difficult task. I am a novice when it comes to repairing or fixing cars. But after watching this video I had the job done in about 45min! Thank you very much!

  • Thanks dude all fixed yesterday, now can you help me get the ABS and Trans off lights off.

  • Hey, a big thanks to you for your video, exactly my problem on my 98 park avenue and all fixed for $4.99 plus tax!! I would like to add that my upper elbow was deteriorated pretty badly and crumbled and it was almost didn't notice that the o rings from the old elbow were still in the car after removing the plastic that had deteriorated badly and was crumbling apart. Just a FYI, to make sure the old ones are out before installing the new part. Thanks again!!

  • @gipee07 how did you remove your belt tensioner in order to get the elbow out???? i'm having a hard time taking mines off

  • @m0vearound On mine there were 3- 15 mm bolts to remove the tensioner pulley bracket asm, 2 near the middle and one that was a little trickier near the firewall side lower left area of the bracket, not right out in the open, I used a short handle swivel head ratchet to get that one out slowly but a deep socket may have worked if I had one. Hope that helped.

  • thanks bro... you just saved me about 3 to 400$

  • I have a 95 buick park avenue and I'm having a hard time taking off the belt tensioner to replace the elbow do i have to remove the screws on the pulley in front of the tension in order to take it off or whats a good way to get it lose i see u took yours off like nothing but mines won't please respond asap!

  • Excellent video! Thank you :D

  • Great Video Going to be doing this today... :D

  • Hey Guy!!! ..... You just got yourself some fuckin thumbs up!

  • dude u the fucking man! this car i bought is a 97 grand prix and the sells man didnt want to take it back because of its severe leak. it leaks exactly like the one in this video. great instructions. thanks again for sharing.

  • dude you don't know how much your video help me i thank you

  • Great video it helped alot thanks

  • 218 is the hottest I've seen it get.

  • I don't remember the last time I saw or heard my cooling fans go on, but my 3800 on my Buick doesn't get hot. And we're in south Florida.

  • Same problem with my Buick LeSabre @ 114,000 miles. Your video was a tremendous help. Thank you!

  • Excellent video. My upper elbow is leaking in my 2000 grand prix and this video helped immensely.

  • I can't seem to keep coolant in this engine. I did lower intake gaskets and replaced the bypass elbow because it was out. Then I replaced it again now a year later I'm doing it again. What a joke. I found this video because I was looking for a gm part number this time.

  • could this be another reason why my caR IS OVERHEATING STILL I CHANGED THE WHOLE COOLING SYSTEM. WATER PUMP THERMASTAT, THERMASTAT HOSE AND THE THERMA STAT NEEDLE IS STILL GOING UP. HELP ME PLS.,

  • @jsly15 It could possibly be. I mean if it's leaking, then it's leaking. You could have a blown head gasket. Do the cooling fans kick on above 230*? Did you bleed the system of air?

  • @jsly15 dude o don't know if you still are having overheating problems, but one thing you should ck is the temp sending unit if it is coroded it won't do it's job

  • part number 47065 made by dorman auto zone the two eblows its a kit I instaled it today it took me like 2 hours anyone can do it.

  • Hey you know what THANK YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!! I have 2005 impala that would overheat randomly turns out it is the very same pipe your talking about. Kudos my Friend!!

  • Say what happens when some of the plastic brakes off and falls in the engine? Is there a way to flush the engine and get that piece out or can I leave it in there what would happen? Help please!!!!

  • @alexkelley20 You HAVE to get the plastic out of there. Otherwise it could get caught in one of the smaller coolant passages inside the engine and restrict coolant flow, resulting in a hot spot and engine failure.

  • @63lesabre Do you know how to get the plastic out?

  • Comment removed

  • My 2000 Impala had the original ones melted into the metal,,,,,I used a drill to cut a bead in the broken plastic and it came off like the shell of a hard boiled egg.....Very nice thanks....you saved me money I don't h

ave / May you have better luck than you deserve this week...and it is so.

  • GREAT video. I bought the elbow kit for $3 and took me about 2 hours.

  • Dude OMG thank you. I thought it was gonna be a lot harder then what it was you help so much.

  • What is the part number of the part from AC Delco?

  • @buffett7878 One is a 12565082 and the other is a 24503423

  • @buffett7878 just go online on google and put in Heater Hose Fittings 47065

  • Great help thank you for taking the time though I run the firebird 3800 which is even easier because rear drive and no need to remove alt. Thanks again great work

  • I have the same problem with my car and the people at autozone have no clue what im talking about....can you help me? they are like black plastic bypass pipe??DDDUUUHHH.....idk! lol HELP!!

  • @jrivas2252 I feel sorry for you man. If you go down the isle where they have all the stuff that's made by the company "HELP!" then you'll be able to find them. That's where they normally have all the sockets, and door handles and other miscellaneous crap :P

  • i really appreciate your video!!! my car is now fixed!!! you are a god!!!!!

  • thank you so much for this!!! saved me a lot of moolah!! you are awesome!!! 3 dollar part 2 hour job!! thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this is my third one i put on i only have 116,000 miles. same one keeps going out. the upper elbow

    .

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH,,, YOUR A LIFE SAVER

  • I had the connector blow right off my Bonneville SSEI. Your video helped walk me through replacement. Much thanks.

  • FYI: The elbow set costs $3.99 at autozone or any auto parts store.

  • great vid thanks for the help.. wasnt sure what i was gettin into now i do thanks again..

  • Great vid.Thanks.

  • This has been a major help dude. I have a 04 Monte Carlo SS Intimidator with the 3800 engine and the top hose cracked in half on me... Spewing shit everywhere under the hood. Ended up replacing the water pump and putting it all back together before I realized it was this single hose doing the damage >.<

  • So grateful for this video! I just bought a 95 Park Ave Series II needs this done. Just bought the elbows, I'll be diving into it the next day its not 40 degrees with 25 mph winds. Car should be fine to drive if I keep the coolant topped off for the next few days am I right?

  • @cardwellave I wouldn't advise it. The cracked plastic will only get worse due to the pressure build up in the cooling system and unlike the series 3, the series 2 does not have a failsafe mode for when the engine becomes too hot. The series 3 will actually shut off half of the cylinders and spray raw fuel into the combustion chamber to try and cool the engine.

  • So you just put in the elbows without applying sealant?

  • @DeFFxJiXoN That's right. They have rubber seals on the elbows that hold a seal like a gasket.

  • Big ups to this guy I'm currently trying to do mine well i'm about to fix it right now... Again Thanks A lot

  • What coolant do you use?

  • @stonehopper1067 I use Prestone 50/50 all makes/models long life. It's already pre-mixed with distilled water so you get a pure mix, and mineral deposits don't develop in the inside of the radiator.
