Project 8 was probably the worst of the THPS serious. THUG 2 was pretty bad.

The whole TH series was just "how much points can you rack up". When Skate came out 2 years ago, there was no more competition.

As far as I'm concerned as a consumer THPS was done.

THPS 4 was my personal favorite, then THPS 3.

When it was first introduced, I played the first one nonstop.

Well, Tony Hawk was the first to really succeed with a skating game, but that doesn't mean any other skating game to come out after it was a copy.

Yes, Skate is a skating game, but it doesn't use the same button pressing format that THPS used.

so, it's the same general idea, but with a different style.

You pretty much re-stated what I did.

And yes they do have the gun, tennis racket, and baseball bat. All of them are like 'sleeves' for the wiimote, plastic casings that it fits into. Yes it is still a controller, but it's a lot less like traditional controllers.

And yes peripherals are annoying, but that's been my whole point. They are happening, and they are the future, whether we like it or not.

And it's all Nintendo's fault lol.

Yet jumping around and waving your hands really isn't a part of anything one would want to play.

You want to play guitar, there's a plastic guitar; shoot things, there are already gun things like the Wii Zapper. There are even full cockpits for things like racing / flying games that you can buy. For everything else, there are motion controllers like the Wiimote and Natal, or just a keyboard.

They all have buttons, but they're not traditional controllers, I guess one could say.

Shame. Tony Hawk's games used to be fun and good. It all went downhill after the heights of THPS3, 4 and THUG. I don't like EA Skate either though, the controls are horrible and the game is a boring mess.

Oh cmon, isn't it clear by now? Controllers are a becoming a thing of the past.

Ridiculous as it might be, they are limited and old. There are no buttons in real life, and as games get closer to life itself, they will become obsolete.

I can not see playing games like Halo without a keyboard or controller, I'm not saying this is a good thing, but it is inevitable. And with Natal coming, the next step is already here.
