I think "prick" is a bit harsh! Tommy has a FULL ON personality which might seem at a glance to be arrogant- but isn't. I can assure you that he's never once belittled or critisised any other player in my earshot. I'm sure he's as aware as anyone of his abilities (they are many!) but he's also very generous and encouraging to other players. our music has little in common but I admire his skill and value his friendship.
Listen to Pat Kirtley's original recording on his album Kentucky Guitar. It's ten times better when he plays it alone, this rendition does not do the song much good.
