what is the difference between a conceptual and a performance artist??

i ask because i know people who say that chris burden it`s a performance artist and other saying he is a conceptual artist?

a performance artist is someone who performs there peice of art often in a gallery for example joseph boyce did a piece where he covered him self in felt and was locked in a room with a coyote. a conceptual artist (and i might be wrong) is an artist whos work is a concept and only really represents a concept and isnt just an objet d'art.
