I think 1 of the main things why some may not donate is that they're thinking, "what if it doesn't work?". Especially if 1 or a few people donate a lot of money & even after the treatment nothing was different. Sure the feeling of knowing you tried is good but when there's no results it's still lame.

But I know for a fact that in the world there are cases of peoples who live normal lives with only half of their brain present. At first they are paralyzed, can't talk, can't do anything, but then something wonderful happens, the remaining half of the brain rewires itself and takes on the functions of the missing half !

I think you made 2 mistakes in setting this fund up which will probably stop you from reaching the target amount of $40K. First, it seems you have to give your CC info to make donation. That's a big turn off for a lot of people. A lot of us have Paypal account exactly because we don't want to give our CC info to all these websites online. Second mistake was setting the minimum of $5. Most people wouldn't mind giving $1, but at least $5? I think that gives pause to a lot of potential donors.

honestly, she probably gets frustrated beyond anything words can say. if i was her, i'd want to be completely isolated with my own thoughts, and if i do get interaction with people, i'd want them to be silent, and talk to me without speaking. think of how frustrating it would be in her position.. i'd rather have the ability to NOT think, at least then i wouldn't have to worry about not being able to express myself, EVER. in situations like these, there is zero closure. horrible.
@ExactDarkness51 Do you have any idea how bored you would be if no one ever spoke to you? There are even articles about people who have recovered from these states talking about how they could hear everything around them and how comforting it was to hear their loved ones talk. Talking to Jen is how we show her that we love and support her. Not only is it to comfort, but to motivate as well. I imagine it is very frustrating. Having her exercise her mind and body helps her heal.
A friend of ours in High School was in an accident. He was in a coma and after a lot of testing the doctors said that he was probably never going to wake up and if he did he was going to be "a vegetable." Not only has he woken up, I chat with him online quite often. You would never have guessed he was in such bad shape except for a few minor things here and there. There is hope for everyone! I sincerely hope that your friend can get better. The fact that she's still here shows strength already!

Other than a website its a good idea to create a Facebook page for Jenny since Facebook connects just a strong as YouTube. He is full body paralized and cant talk.He knows what is going on and smiles and laughs when we tell him jokes.This happened 20 years ago and the doctors are baffled that he has lived that long. They say most people with that injury dont make it 10.It just shows us he is fighting to stay with us every day

I think you made 2 mistakes in setting this fund up which will probably stop you from reaching the target amount of $40K. First, it seems you have to give your CC info to make donation. That's a big turn off for a lot of people. A lot of us have Paypal account exactly because we don't want to give our CC info to all these websites online. Second mistake was setting the minimum of $5. Most people wouldn't mind giving $1, but at least $5? I think that gives pause to a lot of potential donors.

So touching Nikki my best friend Lynsey was in a terrible car accident 2 years ago and luckily she has managed to recover enough to talk but due to brain damage is still unable to walk without aid etc. I think it's amazing what you are trying to do for Jen and if I can donate from the UK I would give whatever I could so that you could communicate with her again. honestly, she probably gets frustrated beyond anything words can say. if i was her, i'd want to be completely isolated with my own thoughts, and if i do get interaction with people, i'd want them to be silent, and talk to me without speaking. think of how frustrating it would be in her position.. i'd rather have the ability to NOT think, at least then i wouldn't have to worry about not being able to express myself, EVER. in situations like these, there is zero closure. horrible.

There are even articles about people who have recovered from these states talking about how they could hear everything around them and how comforting it was to hear their loved ones talk. Talking to Jen is how we show her that we love and support her. Not only is it to comfort, but to motivate as well. I imagine it is very frustrating. Having her exercise her mind and body helps her heal.

A friend of ours in High School was in an accident. He was in a coma and after a lot of testing the doctors said that he was probably never going to wake up and if he did he was going to be "a vegetable." Not only has he woken up, I chat with him online quite often. You would never have guessed he was in such bad shape except for a few minor things here and there. There is hope for everyone! I sincerely hope that your friend can get better. The fact that she's still here shows strength already!

Other than a website its a good idea to create a Facebook page for Jenny since Facebook connects just a strong as YouTube. I have paypal as well and unfortunately they make it difficult to accept non-profit charity donations. That mostly involves alot of paperwork and Tax ID's and whatnot. but i am willing to contribute in anyway I can.

He is full body paralized and cant talk.He knows what is going on and smiles and laughs when we tell him jokes.This happened 20 years ago and the doctors are baffled that he has lived that long. They say most people with that injury dont make it 10.It just shows us he is fighting to stay with us every day
