arthur (killer) kane used to punk little stephen for his lunch money, and he kicked bruce springseens ass twice for tryen to stick up for him, and johnny thunders kicked bruces and stephens asses at the same time...just for fun....
Amazing . . saw them in england on the men without women tour at hammersmith . . its southside johnny and the jukes lost album ! But pure quality and great songs . . !
No wonder, Springsteen is the best live performer of all time with such talented guys in the band. Both Steve and Nils are amazing guitar players and songwriters that deserve much more credit for their work, especially Steven, Nils being well established as a solo act before joining The E Street ban.
This is one fantastic piece of music. The greatest Smokey Robinson & the Miracles hit never actually recorded by Smokey Robinson & the Miracles...like something out of their lost back catalog and only unearthed in '83. Actually, that's a good question...why didn't Smokey ever record this...would it have been too redundant? Anyway, a masterpiece by Little Steven, too often overlooked or forgotten.
It was the Summer of 83. I lived in Brk Heights with my friends Riko and Cookie...Some 20yr old drip from Ohio. I wonder were you are Gloria....XXXOOO
Yeah, the quality is awful, but that fact that it even exists is awesome. It comes from the long-form FILM of "Men without Women"... cool flick... very expressionistic. No plot to speak of, only the killer songs from the album. I saw it in the summer of 83 (the year after the album came out) in LA... Can't find the film anywhere... if I could get my hands on it, I would be a very VERY happy man
He makes Bruce better and vice versa alsso same with Nils ! Nils better guitarist of the three, but all make beautiful music ! Makes the world go around music !!! Awesome song
I remember seeing this on MTV one of the few times they played it. Although the quality is horrible on this, it brings back a lot of memories of that time for me, of which I'd completely forgotten that Steven had done this video. It'd be really nice now if someone could serve us up a clearer copy, as this is a fantastic song, and really, should have been a #1 hit. Thanks to Glammer though, for giving us what he had in stock, I loved it!
Hmm in summer it gets mighty hot in the big Appel and those coats look warm as toast. Miami might have worn his from dusk til dawn but while the er, boss is away it's clearly sensible civvies on Civvy St for the Disciples. On a serious note this is fabulous and thanks for sharing. Might there be footage of Lyin' in a Bed of Fire out there somewhere?
I will always praise Dino for being the best drummer in the whole world, face it people, this is a legend in motion and it is number one.And Steven is really injoyable to see on TV in his best role wonderful video thank you
Men without women is one of my all time favorite albums!! Someday it will get the credit it deserves.Bruce is sing bankground and playing guitar and Clarence is playing sax. What a song!!
OMG thanks for mentioning that album. The title song and the rest of the tracks are so great - I'm buying it right away. Thanks! And yes, he really does deserve much more credit.
Great song, amazing to see the video after so long. Can you imagine living such a charmed life? I'm sure he had his tough times, but overall, I'd say he did pretty good.
The Disciples Of Soul were a great band, even if it was another outlet for Little Steven Van Zandt aside from The E Street Band. The members of this band also included Jean Beauvour from The Plasmatics and Felix Cavaliere from The Rascals. Sixties blue-eyed soul meets Seventies punk and Jersey bar rock. They sure don't make them like this anymore.
I think this is probably one of the greatest songs ever....!!!!
Everything is just so correct about it... Little Steven was, is, & will always remain 'one cool dude'& a fabulous musician ... La Bamba's horns sound amazing, & Ed Manion's sax solo is also the business.... a faultless song....
wow yeah i havent seen it in 20yrs either. one of my very fav videos. all i wanted back then was a disciples of soul jacket like those (or that sky blue silk jukes one) - lol!
Some people make better number twos.

Picture quality of this video is terrible but does not distract from the quality of the song by one of the US' most understated male artists
