  • very good job

  • Off topoic question how did you create your background

  • I love when they say they are not professionals when they have been doing it for years to prevent from them from looking stupid when they mess up. 2 plus years doing something on a regular basis...you are a professional...especially if you get paid for it.

  • if you have a mac than you can do it with imovie

  • Great tutorial, thanks from Ireland!

as always, great video. you should be a reporter!!!

  • What camera are you using?

  • How did you add the crop?

  • @aronahCLT Under the "Transform" video effects, there is "Crop."

  • wow.. awsome.. I thought it will be very difficult.. I was wrong.. Thank you very much for showing me how simple it is. THANKS!

  • Hi Dave, I would recommend using a four or eight point garbage matte rather than cropping as it gives you more flexibility as to where you actor is. I would also add that if you simply select the aggressive setting within the Ultra Key effect you will get a nice and quick key. Great video, keep up the good work!

  • @shaunteko WOW... THANK-YOU for suggesting everyone and Dave to use the AGGRESIVE setting... works like a charm!!! Also, thanks Dave! This was a very convenient video for me. I appreciate it a lot!!! GREAT VIDEO <3 !!!!

  • can u tell me the best settings for maintaing dslr footage quality. Ive tried rendering as a avi uncompressed but it changes to sd oppose to hd

  • Wow, I found the perfect video.. I've been using Vegas for Green screen things... and I've just bought Premiere Pro cs5.5 and found this video.

  • Thanks for this tutorial. I'm doing green screen work today, but i only have 3 lights. I'm gonna need to make it work somehow!

  • Hi ... I need a question answered! By the way,, awesome video! When i bring in pictures to the timeline... and try to view them in the playback window ,,, they are way too big. I click on fit and it adjusts the video playback area ,,not the video itself (pic) i have to manually drag the pictures to make them smaller. Can you help??

  • Quick question Dave: What platform are you working with? I am assuming Mac. Also what video card are you using for your computer? Thanks!

  • @findamir PC, you can see all my stuff on my gear page.

  • Hi. Thanks for your help. How did you encode the video to have such hi quality before the upload? Thanks for helping.

  • You're picture is really crisp...and the play back is smooth...are you working from an avrage laptop or do you have extra things that enhance you're system...because my once I had a background or effects my play back gets chopy...is there anything you would suggest?

  • wow - I am astounded at how crisp and sharp your picture is while still looking flat.

I'm really struggling with my picture even under proper lighting.. im going to try and find your settings on your site :)

    Looks amazing

  • Thanks Dave! This video saved me some time and frustration during the editing process while creating my new production company intro.

  • Hi, You have such great videos! I'm kinda on a budget, what is the best cheap video card for Premiere Pro CS5?

  • @flyguyga321 I have a video on that search my site for "Installing the Nvidia 240 GT For Premiere’s Mercury Engine"

  • check out my first blue screen video ! ! /watch?v=C5b74HgtQX0

  • Nice Job, I still working with Vegas, I found It easier, I have a Canon 5D using Mov files, but I also use NeoScene to transfer files to Vegas format. Nice, really Nice Job indeed, Congrats.

  • so because of the mercury playback engine you dont have to render inbetween each clip? I know i have to turn the preview quality down in vegas to see it properly (when i use AVCHD) so ur saying that CS5 is worth it cuz i would be able to instantly preview (like i do in vegas) in higher quality? Thanks for the response!

  • this is fantastic, really helpful. I've been considering shooting some stuff on green screen for a while now, thanks for this!

  • that's a lot of wattage! :)

  • my cpu:

    AMD phenom 9650

    Radeon HD 4650

where did ubuy the lights? around what price?

  • @MsJas666 just a local hardware store, they are super cheap.

  • @drumat5280 how were you able to make your halogen bulbs look white?

  • @drumat5280

exactly how cheap? cheap to be work lights, or actually cheap? *smiley*

  • @tarrizzzzzzzzz about $25 a piece.

  • @MsJas666 i fyou have neighbors who are doing renovations, sometimes they throw light out (just like this). thats how i got mine :D BTW, i only have 1 set so its not as good of job as this but it still works :p

  • how come u switched from vegas to pro?

i have a t2i plus sony vegas and i heard if you dont have your green screen evenly lit then it will be difficult to key out true?

do u recommend using adobe instead of vegas?

  • @MsJas666 if you check out my site I have several recent videos on why I switched that will answer your question.

  • you choke it just enough ;) haha
