lol my sister tried to play the harmonica close to our cat's ear and he turned around and attacked the harmonica. when she was practicing he'd jump and try to bite the harmonica. we had a blast playing the harmonica hidden behind a wall. he'd come running into the room at which time we'd make a lot of noise and he'd go crazy running around not knowing what to do. my mom would yell at us for jangling his nerves. rofl.
No - Tortoishell cats aren't deaf. It is white cats but only white cats with blue eyes which are invariably deaf --or if only one eye is blue, the cat will invariably be deaf only on the same side as the blue eye. Tortoishell cats are perfectly fine, but mostly female.
you're not getting it...what it's doing is triggering their 'mating' impulse. :) Ergo..harmonica makes male cats horny.
What?!!!
All kidding aside, if you notice, each time the cats' ears twitched first...then they took it out on the nearest 'object'..their companion. They aren't necessarily fighting..just feeling the need to express whatever emotion the sound is causing in them. Watch again. MY cats don't react this way. They love my harmonica playing. Try an actual song next time. :)
My cats (and I currently have 7) - don't mind my harmonica playing at all - but when I sing - one of my cats used to get on the counter and bite the ends of my hair while meowing loudly - I never knew if she was critiquing or not...she'd purr at the same time. ;)
I was wondering if mine were the only ones. My male cat HATES the harmonica! Are both of your cats male? Because only my male seems affected by it. He automatically walks over to the female and bites her on the neck.
this video made my cat sit on my lap and start biting me
i was playing before and she kept coming up and bumping me

What's the cat sitting on? It looks like a space invaders table or something.

Close, it's an Arkanoid cabinet.

That noise would make me cranky too. Looks like they're friendly fighting though...I think.

You have really beautiful cats. They're both very healthy looking. Not too fat, not too skinny.
