If I'm correct about the spot, it's open there until December 31st for rainbow and brown trout. Further downstream from Eglinton Avenue to Lake Ontario it's open year round. Rainbows can successfully spawn if they reach the West Humber River into which they'be been stocked (Vaughan/King Township), though any spawning activity in the lower river will probably fail. Nothing wrong with taking home a fish caught in that stretch, though I usually release the ones I've caught.
Correct on all accounts. I've seen salmon swim up as far as rutherford rd. in late fall in the humber which is exciting to see. It's all catch photo and release. I stumbled on this spot while walking the path and I usually have bass fishing gear in the car and as you can see, not exactly equipped nor actually expecting to catch a fish like this. That's why fishing is so fun. Too bad so many folks make rash judgements. Nice to discuss hobbies with more positive folks.
@tomphish1212 Very true, does appear to be out of season to me also. Thing is, that's how these people get caught, by posting themselves up on YouTube for all to see. That's IF he's fishing out of season of course.
what's the point, the poor fish wants to lay eggs, the poor fish has a mind and will to live, yes the poor salmon wants to live and your hubby and you have a great time terrorizing the living creature, sorry but I do not agree with you and I can assure you that to most of people you seem like cruel fools
@tomphish1212 yeah beach the fish, and why dont you just kick it on shore, slice it open for eggs, and throw the fish in the trees while your at it being such a kind sportsman....
fish off the season is only until september 30th, which is very short :(, and second, never put ur hand o the rod like u did, over the reel, because its gona snap, happened to me :(, other than that nice catch
Ever heard of a landing net? Learn how to fight and "beach a fish" ! By the way your fishing out of season buddy...open only 04.31 - 09.31....M.N.R would give you a big fine!! Give them a chance to spawn...
If you follow the salmon runs, the Steelhead are hanging around just downstream. Used roebags without success. ended up just casting a spoon. This little guy bent the spoon and the hook.

I knew you'd get haters by catching a big trout, but I had no idea there'd be so many of them.
