21 yr old McCartney singing about 17 year old girls, slightly taboo, and exciting, 60 yr old McCartney singing about 17 year olds, pedophillic and creepy...
i was in one of the farthest seats back at paul and ringo's concert in new york, i literally couldnt stand up anymore... i had to hold onto my dads shoulder.. paul is by far the most talented, yet underrated musician EVER :D
Pick guards easily come off with a couple of screws and also if you look at any footage or pics from the "Let it Be" era, then you will see him playing this exact bass.
I'm sure he has more than one Hofner bass. I doubt he takes around a priceless relic (as in, the bass he used to record Let It Be) around with him on tour. My 2 cents anyway...
Well its tough to tell if its the original because he did remove the pick guard of his original but he also auctioned it off and gave the money it made to charity so it might be it.
Actually, I read that he had/has two hofners: his first hofner he had until after the let it be sessions, which was stolen, apparently. The second one which he got in like 1965 or something (it was a 1963 model) , has been refinished a few times, and fixed up, but otherwise, I think he's kept it all this time.
i think Blackbird96 is right, i've heard the same thing. he has had the 2 hofners and a rickenbacker (used for recording), and still has the newer hofner after the old one was stolen from abbey road studios.
It's a record store(like CDs and vinyl) that has three locations, Berkley, San Fransisco, LA...I think there is also a New York one......anyhow this was filmed at the LA one, go to Amoeba(dot)com and you'll see tons of live vid and more info.
you might be wondering why u got a thumbs down...well, here's why, no. 1: we haven't drifted apart from the Beatles. no.2: Paul McCartney doesn't need his fame back, he's as famous as ever since the Beatles.
Why is he playing at a small ass venue like that? looks like some kind of high school cafeteria and shit. And I bet those 3 young ass guys must be pretty damn lucky and honored to play with a such a legendary icon. They should cherished that moment forever. People who have been playing for many years would love to be in their shoes right now and give anything to play with someone from The Beatles. I bet everybody is gonna hate them because they're jealous LOL. What happen to his all star band?
That small ass venue was a record store in hollywood, yes it still sells vinyl and is world famous for it, that held over 900 people. Paul wanted to do some small free shows for his fans and this was one of them. You will never know how great it was to be there in such a small venue. I have seen Paul nearly a dozen times but this was, by far, the best and due in no small part to the smallness of the venue. The owners and employees were great to us. We were the lucky ones!
man I wish John and George were still here! especially John, it would be real interesting to have witnessed the Lennon legacy had he been alive today!
i wasnt there cause i know i had no chance to get in the store, just a few people could see the show, so i did not bother to go, but really did you see him from the jack in the box infront amoeba?
i'm shock by paul mccartney's videos playing this song. how can anyone dislike paul mccartney?? even it's only like 5-6 people, it seems imposible.
