PayneX4, I know Murray in person, and all he did with WebCT was to listen to the needs of his students. We was elected by the students as the best teacher in his department in his first year teaching there.

The only problem he got with WebCT is that he wanted to give the most powerful tools to facilitate online learning. There was a battle among WebCT (the most powerful) and Blackboard (the simpler). Blackboard won and bought WebCT. Both got very expensive. Now Moodle (OSS) is winning. :-)

Poor fellow didn't know that in years to come it would bring about the worst accessibility and user experience ever to be inflicted on student kind.
