Amy winehouse was brilliant. She was talented and beautiful. Nobody can say that she was just a junkie because she had her demons just like every other person on this planet. So anyone who says anything bad about her is worth alot less than amy winehouse.
she definitely was my favorite uk female soul singer!! i love them all but shes not as sappy as adele better voice than duffy less commodified than joss stone (i feel like joss stone has an amazing sound but her stuff is a little predictable) BUT Amy KEPT IT REAL she had wonderful JAZZ aesthetics (check her first album Frank), cathartic venting of negative maybe immoral happenings that come from the BLUES, and on top of that she took it beyond catharsis and said "this is who i am. take it"
It was sad to hear that she passed. I would say that she didn't even get a chance to make things better, but there's no telling if she would have or not. Regardless of her personal demons, she was a talented artist. She didn't do no ANYTHING to anyone, she wrote beautiful music, and every word she sung... she wrote. For people to devalue her and just discard her as some junkie can only come from someone who was just as hurt as she was. Personally Amy has gotten me through some shit... so she shall be missed on this end.
