How far do these stick out of the box? Looks like half an inch from the vid but i can't tell. I'm trying to fit them under my seats and have almost no room. I know the mounting depth already. anyone know how far they stick out? an accurate measurement would be much appreciated.
@AyreRecords around half an inch. If you want me to measure exact I can, its sitting on my shelf right now. Feel bad for the poor thing- had very much sentimental value to me, but its beginning to click as though one of its spiders is disconnecting from the coil- but its under the first spider :-( Poor lil thing, it was quite the beast. But putting these under your seats will SURE rock the car, beleive me. Make sure to check out my newer vids and some new TC sounds vids of my new sub this weeknd
@masterwolf1212 if you could measure that would be great. im really pushing the amount of space that i have right now.. i can fit 6.5inch subs easy but i really want the 8s
@AyreRecords After measurement they are EXACTLY half an inch (your a good video size estimator! :P) But AyreRecords, I don't think this will work out for you. You see, when the subwoofer is playing, and moving, at decent volumes the woofer will move higher than the height of the gasket. This means you have to make the woofer sit even lower than the gasket, so when the woofer is playing it does not hit anything. What are you using these for? Maybe I could help design, I do free accurate box desgn
these little subs kick ass, im lookin into getting 2 of them. what kind of RMS are you pushing at them? just curious as i dont want to get an amp thats too big and blow them.
@austinpetemo around 300rms. Seriously, they are rated for 175 but damn these little things can take it. This isn't long time though, they'll do juuust fine absolutely no problem, coils will still be cold at around 200-250rms per subwoofer. And don't worry, some people think "oh no, I get a 1,000 watt amp and plug it into a 500 watt sub its gonna blow!" No, thats just the power it CAN put out, when turned to the certain point, you control how much it puts out. This is connected to a 2,000w amp
So, not trying to be a dick, but I'm pretty sure you edit your videos to make it sound bassier by pumping up the volume in your editing program, or adding a EQ to your audio track...
@tripslipfall Nope, 100% original volume. Why the hell would I edit a vid to do that. And I know your not trying to be a dick, but thats kind of a rude accustion. So you don't think my sub can distort the mic. Well I think its not so good either, but I am getting a DC audio LVL 4 XL which can easily handle 2,000 watts RMS. But please stop making rude accusations like that, because why in the world do you think i'd do that?! The volume DOES slowly turn up because its a decaf version. :-(
@tripslipfall So I understand you don't like my sub but please don't post on my videos anymore. I don't like when people doubt me :-( And I've had some rough times lately too so I just don't want any shit so if you are going to keep posting stuff like that please leave me alone :-(
@masterwolf1212 It's not that I don't like your sub bro, I love the RE8's, I can just tell that you edit your videos because your camera can't capture the bass very well. I've done it before too, nothing to worry about.
@tripslipfall I dont edit the SOUND I edit the VIDEO. I promise. Could be vegas, Idk, its fucked up things before. But take my word, I swear that I don't edit the sound. The camera has just a weird mic, it just sounds odd. Idk
@masterwolf1212 I feel like I owe you an apology, it just really seemed like the sound was edited, but after downloading all of Decaf's songs I see now that it's not. I'm sorry.
@tripslipfall ahhhh dont sweat it man :P Your very nice though for the apology, there are people on youtube that are too scared to apologize, but your nice :) But don't worry, I took no offense, but thank you for being nice. Yeah decaf seems to add boosts and drops in the bass. My guess is for when your demoing, then you can scare the people you are demoing with random blasts. Personally I don't like the dips but atleast it has a good bassline ;) But really, don't worry :-)
@1Pueblito Hell yah man. Very loud. Cmon its US amps/RE audio!! :P But yeah, it is a VERY stable amp. I am running it with my stock alternator (Not sure how many amps, this is a stock 2002 honda civic coupe DX, I'd guess 90amps) but I don't get any light dimming, so it must be good at power management. Its very loud, makes my RE 8 go crazy, I need to make a new enclosure for it!!!! This one is not so good, the porting is pretty bad so the sub over-excurts a good amount on the higher freq's
@thenolifer1 I don't rly say that over youtube. But the mic makes my voice sound like im 5. But I am way older, older then you'd think judging by the crappy mic that makes my voice sound high. I really hope thats not a problem, I might get a new, more high quality camera, but I just really don't think I need it, this one is just fine, I don't make too many videos anyways. :)
@bassl0va I know it can. Its rock solid and cold afterwards. I'm just scared someone is gonna yell at me, I did this vid @ a time where there was alot of people, and you know how alot of my neighbors complain alot, and really I don't feel like hearing it. xD But don't worry man, I'll have better vids to come! And hopefully a new DD sub! :O
@masterwolf1212 You know how freaking expensive DD is eh? Even a 1500 series would be expensive. and 1500s only take 500RMS probably more like 800 though. maybe go for a 3515? or 3512 if if you can't fit a 15 :-P
@bassl0va The 1500's look alright, my problems are is for one it only goes up to a 12"- I was hoping for at least a 15", also, it only does around 500 rms (well, thats good, just a little low) and you can only get it in single 4 or dual 4 ohm coils, and I was hoping I could get dual 2 ohm so I could wire the subs down to 1 ohm so I can get 2000rms to them. :O Yes I am power crazy atm :P
@masterwolf1212 I never said they were bad. DD makes awesome stuff, I have heard 2515s, the 3rd cheapest ones, which sounded great, and I have a set of DD components which aren't fully installed yet but the one side that is in sounds nice. Definitely if you can get DD, but I would suggest a 3515 :-P.
@bassl0va oh BTW, unless your talking to someone that knows audio, telling people power ratings doesn't mean much, cause they go by the other fake ratings as you know, pmpo, max etc.
Nice man! I've got 4 of these going in a standard cab dodge ram friday running on a Hifonics Zeus ZXI1010 . Should sound pretty good through the pioneer P9800bt. I'll have to try and make some videos next weekend.
@john74653 I'll check them out! Nice! I am also thinking of getting a Digital Designs DD1500, and slapping it in an L Ported 4 cu ft. enclosure tuned to 35hz. I was actually looking at a hifonics amp, but then found a good deal on this Us Amps Xterminator XT2000D so I got this instead- And so far am pleased with the purchase! I just got this amp like a week ago, so I just got it set up, but its sounding great. This, also, isn't the full potential of what the system can do though.
