Frank spends an enormous amount of time in his book giving solid historical evidence as to why the New Testament is the most historically reliable of all ancient documents. Either she didn't read the book, or she is purposely ignoring simple facts that even most secular scholars agree upon.

When I first started watching Youtube debates between Hitchens and Turek I considered myself a Christian. When I found myself cheering for Hitchens I realized that I an atheist. For this I am very grateful to Frank Turek.

Salvation is an opportunity not an obligation or a right. You should stop obsessing over it as though you need us to exist. The Lord is graciously offering it to you as a gift not forcing you to conform. It really comes down to whether you love Yahweh or not. Since we are all born spiritually dead, coming to Jesus is not some reprehensible act, it's being drawn towards life. If people don't want to come to life then they make a choice not to by refusing his love for what ever reason.

Also my response was not one of laughter but of repulsion and pity. Again, I don't need to justify an aesthetic judgement. The question of significance is entirely irrelevant. It reminds me of Fred Leucher, the guy who was summoned as a witness in a Holocaust denial trial in Canada. He came around to the views of the defendent, and as such had a hard time subsequently finding work because pressure groups were hounding potential employers.
(Not an exact analogy, I know.)

Even if that clearly flawed and stupid idea were correct, that you wouldn't put in details of yourself that make you look bad unless they were true, it would only ever apply autobiographically. It would only apply if the writers were speaking about themselves.
Since most of it is written in the third person, and all the gospels were written decades later by people who weren't there, none of it would fall under this idea's shoddy umbrella.
It falls apart way before that, anyway, though.

@scott12ify You do not need divine mandate to create a moral standard. The majority of the bible's "moral standards" are simply common sense pointed out. You could have a secular piece with most of the "moral standards" of the bible and it would still make sense. Well almost, you'd have a hard time selling some of the things in the bible without the backing of divinity.
