  • i have a mid '90's windmere by kuo hornge fan. it is 12", but not made that bad.

  • the kuo horng labelwas probably the motor brand corporation. (no offence)

  • kuo horng made the whole fan and sold it to different stores. many companys did this. then the store would just give the fan their own lables. i imagine this is the case with B&E

  • i like that video you got of your kuo horng fans, but i think you called the motor in the clip fan "dinkie" because the desk fan has a bigger motor, i think mine has a bigger motor, too. it is a 12", model 502227233. it is a table fan instead of a desk fan and it used to oscillate.

  • the clip fan has a crappy tiny little cframe shaded pole motor that all modern 6" fans seem to use

  • Those are from the late 1980s. Yeah they do looks pretty powerful for 6'' fans and the differance between the two speeds IS noticable.

  • i think the newer one is early 90's. and it is weak. but it seems to run ok. it has a very cheap small motor. and my older one has a bigger more expencive motor that has self alligning bronze bearings!

  • Shaded pole motors are weak anyways. I call them throw away motors. They are mostly good for light fan duty like exhaust fans in bathrooms and over kitchen stoves...

  • 70% of my fan collection uses shaded pole motors. only the cheeper ones are throw away like the kuo horng and my handyfan. the rest of my fans are infact quite powerfull! the antique ge 2-4-6 pole shaded pole motors are actually very well built and very efficient and powerful! heavy duty fans!

  • I looked up Kuo Horng and they appear to be a petrochemical company... their profile didn't mention anything about manufacturing of consumer goods. Hmmmm...

  • yeah thats what i found to. but here i have 2 fans made by kuo horng. strange i know

  • I would think that the one with the smaller motor is newer. These didn't hold up very well, cause the bearing stauchions were made of pot metal and warped real easy. And if you think THAT is bad, you should see the new split-phase motors on new washers! They're practically glued together! Amazing that they last even one running cycle!!

  • uhh the motors look alike, at least to me

  • Wow, they don't look much different on the outside, but on the inside, WOW, what a difference!!!

  • the clip-on is sad dude. lol. i have a weak chinese "climate keeper". i will make a video of it shortly for kicks and giggles.

  • How old is the one with the bigger motor?

  • i would guess late 1970's because of the transparent blades
