How are we supposed to train? Full force chin jabs, throatstrikes, eyegouges, kicks to the knee, jointlocks, combat throws [against limbs, spine & head] and dim mak are impossible to execute without injury or the wearing of armour that nullifies the effect & so the technique. The modern trend of resistant badguys wearing suits of armour is all very good for some things but just is not realistic enough to dismiss or adopt techniques.
Silat & escrima players have "compliantly" trained to hi level
but im gonna say, I much prefer Vladmir Vasiliev and the systema method of dealing w knives.
it's good to learn tactics and methods, but everytime I work that stuff, I find it works or it doesn't depending on what sort of training the other guy has had.
with the systema work is constantly improvised, and you really get a better capacity to react to an unpracticed situation, which of course, any real attack will be.
I would miss out the knee strike [everybody seems to think a knee to the guts/bladder/balls is a great fight stopper... i think it a waste of time, loses grounding and risks losing balance & falling] unless it was to their leg [faster, easier & safer]. Otherwise a great technique, as long as it is done perfectly. If they just want money of course it usually best to give it up but as someone was stabbed and killed by a hoodrat last week in the UK after giving up his cash you gotta play the odds.
Seems like this would work only under super close range and not really sending an actual strike or thrust. Maybe my mistake and that is for another technique.
This saved me from getting beaten up at school today. Except he dident have a knife just a fist, but it worked. Thanks alot guys.

I watched the DVD last night. It's a solid resource and definitely a welcome addition to my library.

The thing I like about this clip is that it emphasizes concepts rather than techniques.

Paladin Press, will this be a series of DVDs featuring Kasper or a stand alone?
5thprofession47 2 months ago
@5thprofession47 This DVD will be a stand alone product.
