One way to slow down the tape to the CORRECT  pitch is to adjust the speed when the music is playing. Get a guitar in tune and adjust the speed until the song is exactly in a key like E or G or ? assuming the band was in tune.

Fun to hear but the cassette speed should be slowed down a bit.
