  • That was truly hilarious. I am trying to imagine someone shredding to a cheesy "What a wonderful world" tune.......and what a damn wonderful world it would be!

  • @tommy1234079 LOL, it would be wonderful huh? lol

  • Hi Scot. I was watching yr videos and thought that if you opened a small "guitar museum" type of cafe with a stage for live performing..acoustic, low volume, neighbors la bla bla I wouldn't think that that would be a bad idea!...I specialist cafe sanctuary for people with the same vibe!....

  • @tommy1234079 That would be a blast actually. The only thing that exists like that is a GUN STORE here in town that has a "Jam Night" on Tuesday night and people are welcome to come along, everybody has to plug into one amp via some home made splitter and play along to the built in rhythms from a Casio keyboard. Now there's a fun time to be had by all. lol So yeah, it would be cool to have some REAL type of cafe setting going on for real musicians instead of Mel Bay Book students. lol

  • @groovydjs youd be friggin amazed about what people put on there, its my only way of contanctomg people untill i get a new phone.

  • @stonedrocker666 LOL, I don't doubt that a bit my friend. I only post 1/3 of what people write on these things. I just block everybody else for the Guitarded stuff they write.

  • @groovydjs lol. remember how i said i would post some videos promoting/shouting out to you? i couldn't get it done because my iPad got taken away.(report card) and stuff. i will be on here less and less often. I'm just bumming a friends computer every now and then. sorry scott my friend..

  • @stonedrocker666 Well, that blows that you'll not be on as much. You should've hacked into the school's records department and changed your report card! That would've been some REAL useful time well spent. Let me know when you are on though. Hit the library and start getting on their computers and start hacking in and changing those grades!

  • @groovydjs ill keepp you updatedman, dont worry. if only you lived in my area, you could come to my show...(out in jersey) were doin george jones, cash, roger miller, hank williams, waylon, loretta lynn, A LOT well for me... 2. 45 minute sets plus a 15 min break.

  • @stonedrocker666 Now that's my kind of music right there!

  • @groovydjs if i knew who he was, i found out from a friemd whose a friend of mine whose a friend of his. See what facebook causes?

  • @stonedrocker666 Yeah, I hate thinks like Facebook and that garbage. I refuse to join up with any of that stuff. It gets people all riled up, killed etc. Why do people expose themselves to it? I just don't get it. Hell, You Tube is bad enough. lol

  • @groovydjs some kid wanted to smack me becaise id prefer fender over the majority of les pauls in the world.

  • @stonedrocker666 That's when you simply kick his ass for being Guitarded. lol Pepper spray isn't illegal, spray him in the eyes with some of that just to get his attention. lol

  • @groovydjs keep the freebies comin if you dont mind, ALOT of people meed the answers to all this guitar stuff, some of its common sense , but the speakers and live sound will help at least i think

  • @stonedrocker666 You got it my man. It seems that so many people are posting the same stuff on here and I like to put different things out here for people to at least consider. You can't imagine how much hate mail I get ever single day for just trying to help folks. lol You would think I was Hitler or something. Death threats because I make fun of a guitar that someone likes? Yep, brilliant folks out there. I think that guitarists must be the most cruel people on the planet. lol

  • @groovydjs id be lcuky. Just wosh me luck that ill figure somethin out dude.

  • @stonedrocker666 I always wish you all the luck in the world. I'm going to be doing a video soon about EVERYTHING that you've been talking about actually. Explaining all the ohms junk and how to run a mixer, what to do and what not to do in every kind of situation in order to take all of the mystery out of this stuff. Nobody will ever show anybody. They keep it all like a guarded secret for some reason. So, you'll get a freebie of course!

  • @groovydjs im running on 30w of an 8inch speaker. Ill figure something out

  • @stonedrocker666 Yeah, that will last all of about 2 minutes (if that).

  • @groovydjs damn, as you know i have a show the 24th of february and my girls dads p.a has 6 channels, there all used up, so when we do our xash tribute set in honor of his birthday that week, i dont wanna push the speaker too much, its...confusing

  • @stonedrocker666 You will have to rent a mixer with more channels and get a powered mixer and REAL PA cabinets, not a guitar amp or you will be looking to blow things up my friend.

  • @groovydjs i get it now, is there anyway to hook a speaker up to a combo amp WITHOUT that line out jack?

  • @stonedrocker666 The line out jack doesn't have any power coming out of it. It is just a line level signal. All that means is that you could run a guitar cord from there to a mixing board instead of using a microphone (but it would sound like hell). It's the poor man't way of recording too. You would have to check the actual back of your amp and it will tell you what the minimum ohms are that the amp can go. If it will only go down to 8 ohms and it has an 8 ohm speaker in it already, can't do it

  • So if you add a 412 cab to a 100w head, the wattage gets divided?

  • @stonedrocker666 Yes, if you have a 100 watt head maxed out, each speaker in a 4X12 cabinet will only get 25 watts each.

  • Meat Loaf, Neil Young, oh HEY Scott grove. I spy a Marshall stack, I know it's for the workout thing but are you using it for this video I assume? Weird. Lol

  • @stonedrocker666 Yeah, I'm using that 1985 Marshall Micro Stack on this video. Just an awful little amp (but what Marshall isn't? lol). I'll be doing a review on it in a few days. It's only a 12 watt, solid state thing. It has a 10" Celestian 16 ohm speaker in each cabinet (it's biggest drawback). The amp doesn't sound nearly as bad with much better speakers at a lower impediance. I'll demonstrate that too. I had to run the bass on 10, mids off, treble off to make it listenable. lol

  • @groovydjs What are ohms and impedance?

  • @stonedrocker666 They are measurements of resistance to current. It is one of the most important things to know or you will most likely screw up your amp, sound system etc. That nasty Marshall has a minimum impedance of 8 ohms. So, the 2 cabinets with 16 ohm speakers will bring the amp's speaker output load down to 8 ohms total. If you were to add another speaker of any kind to it....you'll end up over heating the amp and blowing it. So, 2 8 ohm speakers would give you a 4 ohm load etc.

  • @groovydjs Most amps are very comfortable at 8 and 4 ohm loads. Say you have an amp that puts out 100 watts at 8 ohms. You plug a single 8 ohm speaker cabinet into it and you'll get what's promised. 100 watts into 1 8 ohm speaker. If that cabinet actually has 4 speakers in it but the entire cabinet is still rated at 8 ohms, then each speaker will receive only 25 watts for a total of 100 watts. Add another 8 ohm cabinet and that same amp will probably put out about 180 watts into 4 ohms.

  • @groovydjs You are thinking "cool now I have a 180 watt amp since I added the extra 8 ohm cabinet). The thing is, the wattage still hast to be divided up between however many speakers there actually are. So, a speaker will sound a LOT DIFFERENT if you're slamming 100 watts into 1 single speaker than it will if that same speaker is only receiving 25 watts. So, you will actually be getting LESS POWER TO EACH SPEAKER when you get to 4 ohms and 180 watts. Why? More speakers = less juice to each one

  • Hey about the made is america thing for guitars, every time i go and look at guitars and eventually buy one my dad always goes off on a tangent about how you should by american made since they appreciate and discourages me from getting the one that was made in kahzakstan or some shit but what im saying is you shoudnt bitch about what country its made just what it feels and sounds like. agree or disagree?

  • @goldtop52 Tell your dad that China owns the USA. Ask him what he thinks about that. lol It's your guitar, your craft and whatever works for you and inspires you....THAT is what you should buy. My Korean made PRS SE model guitars are easily my favorite, off the rack guitars I own. They simply do so much more for ME than any other guitars I've ever owned, and that has been over 2,000 guitars now. If Dad wants to buy the guitar, have him toss you the money, buy what you want, and a USA sticker.

  • Can you review the amp please

  • @lilweiss1234 The White Marshall?

  • @groovydjs yea is that an mg ms2. i always wondered what the micro stacks sounded like and i no you will be honest instead of lying to try and sell me one.

  • @lilweiss1234 I know that they have the new ones with all of the effects built in etc. Those, I've never tried. This one is the very first version (before the mg series) so, this one is called the Lead 12. It is actuall horrible sounding. It just looks groovy. On this video. The Treble is OFF, the mids are on 1 and the lows are wide open and it still wants to bite your head off. So, with the same settings, a multi effects unit sounds good through it, but it's a VERY low powered amp.

  • Groovy Scott. If u could my friend. Send a PM to me ok. I got u a CD to mail my friend. I can't wait for u to hear it either. I will be looking for that p m and ship this sucker to u. I got a few more CDs of mine i want to send u as well. That's groovy. Thanks a lot buddy ok.. Jerald

  • @THEJERALDNATION Send my man! Thanks a million. Are you sending a Million Bucks by chance too? lol

  • Scott! I got it.. You should do a cooking video it would be groovy as stink lol. So thought you would like that idea for a video. The great groovy guitar griller u r my friend. That's a fact..

  • @THEJERALDNATION LOL, I could see me in the kitchen. I do well to to pour myself a bowl of cereal.

  • new amp? lol and awesome lesson my friends are annoyed as shit with me playing this during practice today. but the hell with them these licks are fun as anything.

  • @Fkepler2 Yeah, I had to get the amp since it is just a cool little throw back to the wonderful 80's. Fun little toy. Have your bass player try to apply this to his axe and then when he can't do it........tell him to shut his pie hole. lol It's actually cool on a bass if you can pull it off in a solo.

  • @groovydjs no actually my bassist thought it was cool but the singer and drummer just got pissed off lol. also im on a tone hunt how do you get the barky squanky tone out of those marshall superleads. its hard to recreate without the actual amp. ive seen most people using the middle positon on their les paul to recreate it but the amp just seems to put a lot of mids on that bridge pickup to make it sound like the middle position. do you know how to get this tone w/o buying the amp. thanks man.

  • @Fkepler2 Well, singers and drummers aren't real musicians anyway. lol Of course the Marshall is the last amp you would normally go to for a cool, clean sound. I decided to give it a test run just for this video. In order to get that sound, I used the 2 position on the Strat (that's most of it) then the treble on the amp OFF, the mids on the amp OFF and the bass wide open. They are NASTY sounding amps and Marshall should be ashamed of themselves. lol But, they look cute! That counts huh?

  • This is outstanding. :)

  • @wings4marie Thank you very much! Learn it well and use your new powers for good, not evil. lol

  • I am Meatloaf. Eat me. Lol

  • @starclassic161 LOL, I get the Meatloaf and Neil Young thing all the time, I figured that I should have some fun with it. lol

  • nice lesson I like the country licks and the bass licks to compliment

  • @clivedavies3 Thank you very much my friend!

  • i've never seen that Marshall amp back there

  • @TheMAJofficial I just got it in a couple of days ago. I've actually got a bunch of amps hidden around. There's another little Marshall and a couple of Fender's right there on the same wall, they are just that normal, black color, so they get hidden by the bad lighting. Got a couple more of the Johnson amps in the garage and 3 more Fenders in the closet. This place is full of junk. lol

  • Scott, that MIJ Strat is F-ing georgous. I didn't realize that it had a carved top on it. Hence there is a reason for that guitar to have a bound top.

This video and type of style for is exactly the type of stuff I love to hear. With all of my knowledge of music on the guitar. But never really playing a Banjo I now get it that this stuff is reffered to Banjo Rolls only played on a guitar. Theorically I have no problem it now just all makes sense in transitioning it to the guitar. MY MAN thanks

  • @TVLTNT Thanks my friend. I love those Fender Aerodyne guitars. They did a superb job on those. Why more folks don't have them is beyond me. I think they are the ultimate Strat (but could use the Lace Sensors).

I'm glad that you enjoyed the licks and the rolls. I really is one of those "OH, I get it now" things and will really tie together any missing things in your country playing. You can just apply the right hand thing to all of your normal licks and bring new life to them.

  • Fender aerodynes are the greatest strats ever!

  • @POINTBLANK0106 You said it my friend! I couldn't agree more.

  • I've looked for this guitar everywhere D: do the sell it any more?

  • @koalascandraw Yes, they still sell them and they still make them. They are all over Ebay and the Fender Japan site has them, even with humbuckers and all kinds of options. That version is not for sale in the USA, so you have to order from overseas. But, I bought this blue one a few months ago off of Ebay. They have this color, natural and red on Ebay with the cool top and transparant finish. The Japanese site offers them in white also, which is beautiful.

  • cool strat

  • @Guitarvirtuoso666 Thank you very much my friend!

  • another great vid thanks for the tips

  • @rb7magnetico You are so very welcome! Thanks for checking them out.

  • "I am Meatloaf", Hahahaha!

  • @Thorvund1970 LOL, I was told at least 10 times this week that I looked like Meatloaf, so....something had to be done. lol

  • I loooooove your videos :)

  • @Weismann Thanks so very much. I'm glad that you drop by to check them out. I hope you pick up a little something now and then that is usable and possibly a laugh too.

  • @groovydjs I'm one of your regulars ;) I learn something new everytime i watch one of your vids, especially your reviews on some of your beauties from your vast collection! And you have opened my eyes for the sweet country style so im thankin you keep em coming :)

  • @Weismann It's always my pleasure to add to the channel. I'm glad that there is such an easy way to share ideas and information with people these days. As long as there's an interest, I'll keep 'em coming my friend!
