Good game. I played it on my friend's psp and I only have 2 complaints. First, the graphics aren't that great, would have been better if it was on ps3. Second, getting awards to upgrade members can be annoying and difficult. Other than that the game was fun, you got a lot more missions to work with and the side missions with other characters was fun and makes them seem real and the new features they added were good. Overall 6.5/10. If you like strategy rpg games check this game out.
@Kenko87 Yeah. I read from the art book that the influences from all areas of the war. Especially considering the entire Europe/Germany areas in the VC world is taken over by the Empire, it makes sense.
can anybody help me on the R&D department? im curious about the armor that are produce by per piece the AA series are they good cause there stat is lower that the standard mas produce onces but go A's on supres and ailres thnx in advance!
@TobiToxic666 The Imperials certainly look like Germans. The 'good guy's with the Gallian military are based on the Dutch military designs of the time. The Federation is based on French/Brit/Allies.
Just got little sad about the amount of member deploy in a single map .. Yet , game system improvement and story plot still make me love this game much . Besides , game system of VC 3 more improved and makes me wanna to play ASAP

@BIOSHIT Those are hard to get unless you do a mission that awards it which increases the chances of geting one. Also the person that contributes to the Mission the most gets the most credits or increases the credit value. However it varies from mission to mission and what month it is. April-August makes it easier to get certificates while September-December makes it easier to get Diplomas. However these all take in consideration but just running in killing dont work you got to kill them smooth.

my hubby's playing the demo right now and loving it. i'm glad it came out for the psp since we've been wanting a coop game for the psp. we both have psp's and a ps3 so i don't see the big deal. there's so many co-op games for ps3, not many for psp.

I can't help but get "meh" vibes from this game. For example, the three main characters are the usual brash hero guy (he even has red hair) the cool dark haired guy and the soft spoken girl. Also, the enemy Valkyrur seems to be the all too common antagonist archetype that loves to fight and battle rage. Add to that that the characters are actually students makes me believe that this game is being marketed to younger ppl than the previous installment.

While the first game was one of the best PS3 exclusives, it got poor sales (around 140.000 worlwide), so I think SEGA would rather avoid risks and release for the PSP instead; but I read somewhere that if the PSP version gets reasonable sales they might consider taking Valkyria Chronicles back to the PS3 again.
@blackcatkuro Umm....You're wrong. Very wrong. That was for the US only, keep in mind NPD does not track world-wide, and that doesn't count some major retailers in the US. Vgchartz has the game at 910k for PS3 now, which, if accurate (which I'm sure it is), would make it the second-best selling JRPG, right after FFXIII.
I know the source you're referring to, but I think it's a load of crap. 3 years to produce a VC game on PS3 when they have an engine ready? Not buying that.
If they want to continue the Valkyria Chronicle saga it would have to be outside of Gallia, spred the story around, bring out a new story somewhere else, like the Atlantic Federation bring back that evil Polition which tried to kidnap the princess for example. hehe
Sad thing is that they are making games for inferior systems to stationary consoles. It's easier to code because the system has much less requrememnts then the nextgens. Ofcourse it's because people will buy it and it'll make money like it would on a proper console
I've finished VC2, I understood is as I know japanese.
Its an awesome game, more of the same. If you loved the original you'll love this, trust me.
It's gone through a few changes but the core gameplay remains and there is more character development this time round.
The worst thing though is the sequel isn't as cinematic as the original, the cutscenes are watered down to anime storyboards and full motion anime sequences are very sparse.
The first Valkyria Chronicles will stay as it is, the story had a great art style, game play, colourful cast of characters, superb story with each character gaining character development, even the enemies and princess, and most of all, closure. The story ended is what I'm getting at. Trying to push more outa of it will just tarnish it, so making a new cast of characters is all they can do. I say they make a movie of the first one of what they did after the war and a get togeather.
Its the same thing who cares how the graphics are >.> i already have it i got it 1 day ago. The Controls are great, good gameplay and its really long. Overall i give it a 9 out of 10
I'm so disappointed they're releasing this game on the PSP, I only have a PS3. I agree with elgato, I enjoy anime cutscenes but I think the original graphics are definitely more appealing.
@tpchikki15 I recently bought a PSP just for this game. I've only played the japanese demo, but the PSP version really manages to capture what Valkyria Chronicles was all about. It looks surprisingly good and the controls are spot on. I obviously don't know anything about the story yet, but it feels like a decent sequel. If you love VC you really should consider buying a PSP.

I'm happy that the game is receiving a broader release. However, I am disappointed too. The first game was excelent and there was little difference between the CG cutscenes and the in-game sequences. I do like anime-like cutscenes a lot, but I still have the first one in my head. It will definitely be a drawback in the series. Don't get me wrong, I'll still get this game, but it will not be the same experience at all which is a shame since this series has a lot of potential with its engine.

I don't get it... what's the story here? Who are the guys in red, exactly? Did the Empire resurrect itself and they're the new guard? I don't know... the Empire was pretty much wasted in VC1. All its generals either dead or surrendered, Maximillian dead... I don't understand what the premise of this new game is.

Well I read somewhere that the reason for that was to allow a wider spectrum of users, namely the PSP, to enjoy the experience of the game. They also hinted of the possibility of the game in console version in the near future.

If you can't afford a PSP then go get a job you slackers or sell your SuckBox360 for a PSP.

I'm happy that the game is receiving a broader release. However, I am disappointed too. The first game was excelent and there was little difference between the CG cutscenes and the in-game sequences. I do like anime-like cutscenes a lot, but I still have the first one in my head. It will definitely be a drawback in the series. Don't get me wrong, I'll still get this game, but it will not be the same experience at all which is a shame since this series has a lot of potential with its engine.

I don't get it... what's the story here? Who are the guys in red, exactly? Did the Empire resurrect itself and they're the new guard? I don't know... the Empire was pretty much wasted in VC1. All its generals either dead or surrendered, Maximillian dead... I don't understand what the premise of this new game is.

Well I read somewhere that the reason for that was to allow a wider spectrum of users, namely the PSP, to enjoy the experience of the game. They also hinted of the possibility of the game in console version in the near future.
